I despised the film version of Red Sonja. However, I've been in love with the novels and comic books for years.
As for Conan The Destroyer, why can't I get this on Netflix? Can someone give me one single good reason why Netflix doesn't have this DVD and every Walmart in existence does? =)

Even so, I think a remake (or better yet, a DO OVER) of the Red Sonja film would kick major booty. Scarlett Johansen with red hair in a chainmail bikini with a sword....

I um...I need to use the bathroom. Be back in a....well, in a little while.....

Kristianna Loken would suit me better, honestly. ^_^

Hmm you know...while Miss Loken is utter hotness to behold....she doesn't quite scream out "She-devil with a sword" to me....I recently watched "The Island" (great flick!), and there were several shots of Miss Johanssen in there where her eyes were downright menacing and she looked like she wanted to beat some ass. Perfect for Red Sonja.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to this one. Haven't seen it in many years. Hehe, Lord Laurence Olivier no less!

I picked up Excaliber a couple of months ago for $9.99.

Now if only Dual of the Titans and Goliath and the Vampires would come back into print! 8)

I think that there is indeed a new Red Sonja film on the way:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800175/

Alien Resurrection is actually one of my favorites in the series. And Clash of the Titans...Harryhausen is definitely a minor deity.

I like Conan the Destroyer actually. Honestly, neither of the two Conan films got the character right. It's just that this one got it much, much worse.

Not that Conan the Barbarian isn't the better film in just about every way. But Destroyer definitely had the feel of Roy Thomas' Conan comics..which makes sense, since he was partially involved in writing the thing.

Cool and it looks like Brigitte is back, although apparently not reprising her original role. It should be interesting to see who gets to play Red Sonja

I woudn't hold my breath on the remake of Red Sonja. IMDB based their information on premature info and rumor.

Heh, that's for sure. Indiana Jones has been in the works for 10 years. Although lately Ford has been talking about it much more than in past years. We'll see.

Harrison Ford was at the Italy Film festival just this weekend where he assured the crowd that he was in shape enough for Indiana Jones IV, but that the next script would take into account the time lapsed from the last film and the fact that harrison Ford is now 65 years old.

Yep, I saw that, except Harrison is 64 (65 sounds old, but not 64) as is Sir Paul, you know, the guy that wrote that song - "When I'm Sixty-Four"

64, or 65... I consider them the same in regards to age. But then again, in my world age counts downwards...

Well I watched both movies the last 2 nights and enjoyed them again very much. I'd had forgotten how stark and grim the first Conan one was, probably due to keeping with Howard's Cimmerian atmosphere. Oh and rated "R", so I guess I won't be screening this for the nephews yet. Sandahl Bergman was great.

Now, Conan the Destroyer was quite different as you all know. Much livelier, funnier and the cast of characters was great, IMO. Grace Jones was outstanding and had great screen presence. I remember how popular she was back then. Fun movie and this one the nephews can watch and enjoy!

A Trivia Note for Conan the Barbarian. Where in the film is a man making love to a Llama?

It is their, just want to see if anyone else had caught it. When I moved to Dallas and got my first apartment, I did not have any money. My roomate and I had didn't have cable, no reception on regular TV, but we had a VCR and Conan the Barbarian. So that was our entertainment (besides gaming and beer, which a gaming buddy of ours made) for about three months. I lost track at 50 the number of times I watched it.
