So what other RPG's do you view favorably?
We have C&C in common, but what other RPG's do you like enough to run and/or play? Here is my list:
Legend of the 5 Rings (fan of the 4th edition too!)
CORTEX
Eclipse Phase
Traveller (Mega Traveller was my long time favorite, now on board with Mongoose' version)
Shadowrun (4th edition is my favorite, but I have loved it since 1E)
EPICrpg
Mutants and Masterminds (I am very interested in 3E, but 2E is my fav)
True 20, especially with the Excalibur rules set, and my house rules I came up with for it.
Warhammer 2E (still very luke warm to 3E)
Aces and Eights
Hackmaster Basic (even though I love using 4E as resources)
Starblazers
Dresden Files (I was only recently won over to the FATE systems.)
GURPS, 4E is the version I actually played for a while in Monterey, CA. Been using their resource books for decades.
I am sure I will think of others after I submit this post.

Re: So what other RPG's do you view favorably?
My favorite games of all time are:
1. OD&D / C&C (I run both in a similar way, so count 'em together)
2. Amber Diceless
Close behind are:
3. Metamorphosis Alpha 1E
4. Tunnels & Trolls
Quite a few others I enjoy:
Empire of the Petal Throne, Classic Traveller, Boot Hill, Gamma World, Sorcerer, and 7th Sea (roll and keep version).
In general I prefer games with fewer rules and more room for me to be creative, rather than games with extensive rules for every situation.

Do I view favorably? Just about all of them, especially if they emphasize role-playing and actual problem-solving over number crunch mechanics.
But my faves are most likely:
AD&D 1E/2E
Marvel Advanced (Blue Box TSR)
Ars Magica
Exalted
Pathfinder
Mutants & Masterminds

Rules Cyclopedia D&D
3rd Edition D&D (yes, I am a heretic lol.... I liked 3e and still do, I only got turned off by the ever-increasing splat explosion... and I turned away before 3.5)
Victory's James Bond RPG
Star Frontiers
StarSiege (not really "other" as it's a SIEGE game)
Gamma World 1992 edition (Ward/Nesmith)

Re: So what other RPG's do you view favorably?
I like 3E too, Pathfinder included. Just don't expect me to run it or to put it high on my priority lists of games to play. That splat explosion you mention almost killed the hobby for me. But it has great rules with great ideas in them, and Pathfinder even more so.
So I like 3E, and buy waaaaay too much Pathfinder, so if your a heretic, so am I.

Re: So what other RPG's do you view favorably?
TMNT & Other Strangeness- Used to read the comics and was blown away when I found the rpg and saw a tv cartoon version. I don't really like Palladium systems in general but TMNT is just about scaled down enough to keep in hand. I had/hope to still have alot of fun playing this game.
Gunslingers and Gamblers- Decent system. A tweak or two and pinching some background/flavour from Coyote Trail turned it into my fave wild west rpg. I don't like class based or hit points in wild west rpg's, nor too much magic (more surprise/doubt for the players when I add in freaky bits later!).
D&D 0e/1e/2e- Where I cut my gaming teeth. Played more or less a hybridised version of these when we were kids. Started to get turned off with the endless splat/2.5ing of the game (a common theme for many editions!). I would happily still play any of these.
