Troll Lord Games

Any reviews/opinions on the adventures for OSRIC/1e/C&C from companies like Goodman Games, Expeditious Retreat, and the like? There are quite a few available but I'm not having much luck finding reviews.

I highly recommend Goodman's DCC line as an excellent line of mods... and here I refer to the 3.0 and 3.5 mods, as the newer 4e compatible are not as easy to port across to C&C (I find I can translate most of the DCC's "on the fly" even, just as I can with earlier ed. mods)... the Witch Queen saga, Stormbringer Castle, Tears of the Genie, the Dragon Cult are just some I've adapted into my campaigns...

Goodmans DCC line is top notch to be sure. The 3.x lineup was easier to convert than the new 4e offerings, but the mods are generally quite good. Harley Stroh's offerings are among my favorites.

Converting the OSRIC modules to C&C are just as easy as converting any OD&D or 1E module to C&C, which means it is easy. I haven't ran many of them but have bought a good number of them and have found all of them to be of better quality than most of the original 1E modules, but some of the old modules are still better.

The first module done for OSRIC, the one I used to post about saying "SHROOMS RULE!!" is still among my favorites. There is another module by Barrataria Games that I bought off of Lulu that I also ran and liked a lot, but I am blanking on its name. I'll have to go look that one up for you.

I think the Shrooms module is Secret of the Pod Caverns, or something close/similar to that.

Ditto- Harley's stuff is great!

Expeditious Retreat Press is my favorite publisher for retro modules. So far, each and every one of them looks and feels very much 1st edition to me. More than most of the DDCs to be honest. Although there are a few gems among these (Castle Whiterock, The Gazetteer, and every module written by Harley Stroh), most of them smell way too much 3rd edition for my taste.

Another vote for Goodman's C&C and DCC modules. Top rate!

I agree that most 3E modules are easy to convert. I'm strugglling with 4E conversion and think it's better just to start over rather than to try to actually switch one into the other. OSRIC is easy to convert as well.
