Omote - last word I've seen from GRRM on his Livejournal is that the pilot was greenlit but the series had not been yet. I may have missed something though.
I don't subscribe to HBO but if they pick this series up I'll start.
I don't subscribe to HBO either, but like you if this series is picked up I definitely will. Very sad to hear that it is only going to be a pilot movie at this point. *sniffles* If the pilot is good enough for a series, that means we're going to have to wait yet another year (2011) for the series to come out. Grr. Thx for the info CKD.

It's worth peeking into GRRM's LJ page every so often - he tends to announce big news there first.

I do every once in a great while, but I suppose with the this HBO pilot being worked on, I should check it out more often.

GURPS Supers Mixed Doubles. Basically it is a tome of premade Supers NPCs. Those are always handy to have when you need someone with a little depth at a moments notice.

I've just started reading Lure of Delusion by Stephen Chenault. Tourney mod from GenCon - looks very interesting.

I was thinking of using Keep on the Borderlands as an introduction to my next attempt at running a CZ based campaign. But KotB is almost identical to the Mouths of Madness. Blacktooth might work better. Also considering Crucible Of Freya and Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. Maybe I roll 1d4 to determine starting point.

Nope. Usually 4 or 5. Der Golem, Aramis, Leif, 64bitrobot, spak man, and Brad are playing.

Looking over the rules for Field of Glory along with their supplement books for armies - Rise of Rome, Swifter than Eagles and Legions Triumphant and pondering what army to build.
On another note, but still related, Besides a video-game in the works in BETA for FOG via Slitherine, looks like folks over at Osprey are working on a Fantasy Supplement as well. Might make for some interesting competition against Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy Battle line.
Oh yeah, and I finally got Fantasy Grounds II working so I can host as GM and run a Castles & Crusades game. Of course now I have go thru all the video on their site to remember how the heck to use the darn program efficiently! Regardless a C&C game should be happening in the near future - Hoody Hoo!

Pathfinder: Princes of Darkness
64 pages, lots of fluff and beautifully illustrated. Um, I haven't read more than 6 pages yet but have glanced over the entire book. It ain't nothing you haven't seen a half-dozen times already.
Pathfinder Bestiary
Got a long way to go in this one, but most of this is the same as the v3.5 Monster Manual... EXCEPT, I like this book much better. Better organized, much of it has better artwork, and a ton monsters. Though, the extra monsters and thurough appendicies don't leave much room for fluff.

I was thinking of getting that one but since it is basically the same as the MM I can't seem to bring myself to it.

I'm working through my 4th edition C&C PH and M&T.
Also I got a copy of every issue of Crusader except number 1...willl buy PDF of that. I love the magazine!!! It has the feel of Dragon during its first couple of years; small short articles with loads of potential and evocative material.

Just got my Tunnels & Trolls v7.5 boxed set in the mail today... so I'm reading through that. I now have 3 versions of Tunnels & Trolls (and the old computer game from way back). I actually like the game very much, but I've never actually played it with a group. My group (actually two groups) aren't usually too keen on learning new systems. I was ecstatic when I got them to learn the C&C rules and start our new campaign a few months ago. They've been having a blast with C&C, so maybe they will be more receptive to trying new games in the future.
Well... if I don't get to play it... it's still fun to read

Looking over the new C&C PHB, but not really reading it. I figure no matter what it says, I can play it how I want...pretty much like I always have.

I took a look at this one today, and I'm not really impressed. There's not really fresh. I would have liked to have seen an all new set of devils created, some cool stuff to throw at players.

Agreed. I have read less than 1/2 this book, and already put it down. Probably never to pick up again. Paizo should have just compiled new devils, and all of the old ones in one big nice book.

rereading old low-level 1e mods for inspiration and plot-yoinking. Stole a good idea from the skeletons section of Lords of Darkness. Unfortunately the players managed to completely sidestep my "clever" plot. I had to shake my head in admiration ....
