Reading Dragons Warriors PDF;; Dark Heresy: Blood of Martyrs; and D&D 4e Redbox.

I picked up Blood of Martyrs as I'm running a Rogue Trader game and my group is interacting a lot with the Ecclesiarchy as as result of a Miracle on their ship (They all burned a fate point in combat against ork pirates) and a failed assassination attempt against the Rogue Trader while in the custody of the Ecclesiarchy and Sisters of Battle.

Dragon Warriors is a good read so far. They include some comic book style art to explain certain rules, similar to what Kenzer & Co did with Hackmaster Basic. It has some interesting options, especially the Elementalist with Shadow. Other classes include Barbarian, Knight, Sorcerer, Mystic, Assassin, Warlock. Though no real healer class. The Ordo Dracois fanzine has a Friar, which i think is very well done. In the game mechanics, lower dice rolls are better. So a natural 1 is critical success, with a 20 being an auto failure. Additionally they don't just use a d20 or d%, the game mixes in 2d10 and 3d6 for certain rolls as well.

D&D 4e Red box is pretty cool. I've run through the solo players book 3 or 4 times now with various folks, where i've DM'd it for them so they didn't have read and flip pages. It was a great success each time. Hoping to run them through DM book next and continue the adventure

Hope to be reading through PDFs of Shadowrun 4e 20th Anniversary Edition; Runequest 2; FantasyCraft; Elric (for RQII); Exalted 2nd Edition, and more of the CKG Digest size.

DragonLance campaign setting, and various other DL titles from Soveriegn Press/Margaret Weis Publishing. Just got sucked into running another large, 8-10 person DragonLance campaign. Yoy. Need to bone up on that stuff again.

I was surprised at how much I liked this setting when Rigon ran it for us a few years ago. I bought some modules and read the 1st trilogy (thanks to Jaybird). Anyway, it is a great campaign world.

Just curious, which modules will you use? I don't know that much about the modules, but do know there are a lot of them (I think).

:)

Reading Elric of Melnibone for Runequest II. Never read any of Moorcock's stuff, though many years ago, a friend of mine had the TSR Dieties and Demigods with Elric stuff in it. That was about the limit to my exposure to Elric. Until now.

I've actually pick up a Barnes & Nobles Nook and put a lot of my Game PDFs I got from RPGNow on it. No longer do I have to sit at my laptop to use them, quite awesome I must say.

CKG, and rereading the Star Wars Saga books since we are playing a new game, where I get to play! I'll eventually start reading through my new Crusader Compilations, probably once I am back from my road trip. I am still also reading through Starblazer Adventures to become better and better prepared at running the Thursday game. When I have time I also look through Eclipse Phase again to gain a better understanding of the setting materials, rules, and equipment. Same goes for Legend of the 5 Rings 4th edition book.

CKG. Let me repeat that, just because (a.) I can; (b.) it feels good; (c.) I can't believe I'm saying it, and (d.) I can. Thanks, Trolls, for a fantastic product. So far, it's been well worth the wait. :D

CKG, Monsters & Treasures of Aihrde, and the PHB (4th printing)

I picked them up at TrollCon East on Saturday. I already owned the 4th print PHB but bought a digest sized one for my son. It reads nice and easy.

The CKG and M&TA I was most excited to purchase at last. I thumbed through them last night but will be reading more intently now.

What system are you planning on using?
What era are you planning on playing in?
Do you want a C&C adaptation?

I can help with this! Just let me know, hoss.

I will not be using any modules at this time, though if some crop up to give me inspiration I certainly will plunder them for ideas. At this point, at the campaign's beginning, I'm using all of my own ideas.

Rig, I certainly have downloaded your DL adaption for C&C, and enjoy the work you put into that document. So many thank yous for your offer of help. Unfortunately to my dismay, after coming off of a 2-year C&C Greyahwk campaign the players want to go back to something more complex... that being v3.5 Roleplaying. :?

Since 6 or so of the players in this new campaign all seemed exicted to go back to v3.5, I relented. I'm going to try as best as possible to keep this campaign lighter in spirit, but we'll see.

I am also a big fan of the DragonLance setting. Some think that the game relies too much on the history of the novels, but I try to run our DL games around that. I don't really change any of the history, I just don't let it weigh down the campaign.

Our new campaign takes place in the 5th Age, about 20 years after the events of the War of Souls. The players liked this idea as the campaign will take the history of the DragonLance world forward into uncharted waters. There is no published material, either for the novels or game material that take place in 442 AC (59 SC), or about 90 years after the conclusion of the War of the Lance.

Just yesterday I picked up Winter Runes (d20) and Jakandor, island of war, which looks neat.
Arriving soon are Codex of Erde (d20) and my brand spanking new CKG, which I'm hoping arrives in time for my birthday tomorrow.
Why?
... because it's my birthday present... and I wants it... my precious .... precious CKG

(couldn't resist) :D

I yanked my Codex of Erde off the shelf last night while grabbing the CKG for more reading. I ended up just reading the Codex, as it has been some time since my last read of it. Enjoyable book. I'm thinking if/when I get gaming again, I'll use Aihrde as my campaign - to challenge both myself and my players. I think I need to move on from Greyhawk at long last...

A stack of AD&D/Basic modules arrived. I really only wanted one of them, but had to buy the others to get it.

Is Temple of the Frog in your stack? My pdf is missing a page. I'd be MOST obliged and happily pay for a page or two of copies.

I do have it both as a separate module and from the Blackmoor OD&D supplement, but it did not recently arrive.

This PDF was always available and legal. Don't know if anything has changed, but here is a link via a quick search:

Reading the CKG...and Sir Osis is spot-on: this is one awesome RPG book.
So far, I'd put it on par with my 1st Edition DMG which, to me, was the
best RPG book ever...until now.
Also reading Of Gods & Monsters and M&T of Aihrde - so much goodness
in these.

Holy history, batman!
I've never seen that, I'm thinking of a later reprint! I wonder if they're the same with new maps, or if the other one is tweaked.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? the one that has teh cover with fanged frogs and one of the characters has a laser gun?

I believe you mean DA2: Temple of the Frog. That was a later reprint / update of the original which was not really a module in the traditional sense.

YES.
You're right, it's half Dave's campaign/half module.....
I still love it, though! Glancing thru the pdf above, it looks quite similar, from what I can recall off hand.

HAPPY DANCE: My wife tells me a package has arrived from TLG, that will be my CKG hardback and Codex of Erde.
