Woohoo! MMII scored on eBay - minty!

Post by Tadhg »

Wow, I just got my AD&D 1E Monster Manual II in the mail and I can't believe the fantastic condition of this book. Seller called it near mint, I call it mint. Friggin' thing look brand spankin' new. Sheesh, it came out in '82 or '83.

Oh and the price - $10.50 (includes shipping)!

I always liked the cover. Which is why I bought it... back in the 80's
I still have all my original stuff. Pristine condition too.

A few months back, I found a cool 1st Ed. core book on Ebay too...a Dieties and Demigods complete with Cthulu and Malebenonian mythologies.
Always wanted one, and figure there can't be that many around anymore.

Did you get it at a good price? My other mint OOP book was also a D&DG but without the mythos for about $3.00. I figured I'll probably never use that material. I would still like a copy with it, but man it's gonna cost me. 8)

Good for you Rhu! I picked up a shrink wrapped 2E Ravenloft Forbidden Lore boxed set for $10.00 at my LGS' sale today.

Anyone who has the Melnibonean mythos, I would love a scan of Arioch's write up.

He has a special place in my gamer heart as the god of my very first Paladin I ever played, Ronin. If that is somehow incompatible, don't ask me, I was the player. Jim Shelhimer of Pennsylvania was my DM. He also used some cool Arduin stuff.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I figure I got a decent deal for 20 bucks, being harder to come by and all.

Nice catch Rhu! I got mine about a year ago and it was in good condition except it had warped and I can't get it to unwarp. But, MMII is a damn fine book.

MM2 is a damn fine book. It's one of the few 1st Ed volumes I still own, and was useful to me before M&T came out. Hell, it still is.

My copy, however, is not mint! Not even close, the poor battered old thing.

Cool find. I always look for absolutely mint copies of book whenever I can. And for under $11?! Awesome.

Modrons still blow.

Wow, now that's pretty cool, from a LGS no less. Sheesh, do they have other OOP stuff, then?

I LOVE that cover! I've thought about getting a few old 1st edition books off of Ebay, but anytime I check them out they seem to be really climbing up there. The collector value of it all really doesn't interest me so I'm fine with the .pdf's. Although, Troll and Toad's website usually has some good deals on the 1st edition rulebooks. The modules tend to get a little pricey though.

They have some. Even a little brown book or two.

Indeed. I'm very glad that so many others like you didn't do that. And now they get to collect money and I get to collect the books! 8)
