RIP Kylie the Crusader Cat

My morning is filled with sadness.... my cat companion of nearly 15 years became acutely ill the last 72 hours, stopped eating, vomited, and suffered massive weight loss over those hours... hoping against hope I took her first thing to the vet this morning, but alas her poor kidneys had just given out. Tests confirmed massive renal failure, and given the choice of letting her go now or trying to push her through with treatment with only the hope of a miracle I let Kylie go....

She was a South Central kitty, born in Compton, and fit in the palm of my hand when she came to me. She loved to rub the edges of my CK screen with her neck and chase dice and generally make a nuisance of herself amidst the sprawl of gaming materials.... I loved her dearly and she will be missed.

I held her as she said goodbye, it was quick and peaceful...

Please, when you have a chance, raise a mug of ale to Kylie the Crusader Cat...

Deepest commiseration. It's always sad losing a beloved pet, especially one that 'enjoyed' being involved at the game table (I know, having a dice chasing cat too) and so nice of you to let her go peacefully and not prolong her suffering.

D.

So sorry to hear that. My wife and I lost a cat we'd had for about that long - longer than our kids even, so I know what your going through.

May she lie in a catnip pasture and have as many mice and dice as she can muster.

Sorry for your loss, John. +1 on Robert's comments. I'd add catnip-filled dice to that image of paradise.

I'm not a pet man myself, but I can understand your loss. Sorry about the bad news.

One of the most tragic aspects of our furry companions is that they don't live anything like as long as we do. Still, at least she had a happy life with you, which is what really counts. Also, you were there with her to the very end, which I think is desperately important.

I'll hoist one for Kylie.

Sorry to hear this, John. Our pets get close and are definitely family members. One of the hardest things I've ever done was to bring our first cat in to be put to sleep. My current kitty is getting older, but we hope she'll be with us for some time.

:)
