Shipping Costs?

I saw the sale for Hardback promo of Monsters & Treasure of Aihrde and Gods & Monsters and hurriedly bought them up for 33 something.
Shipping was over 11 bucks!
I try to only buy hardbounds any more. When I saw the promo I jumped at it.
This was the first gaming product purchase I have made in a long time (Harvesters from Amazon) so maybe I am just behind the times.
The only companies I buy from any more is TLG and FGG. Both seem to have high shipping.
Anyone know why shipping is so high?

To hazard a guess. The post office is trying to shore up their dwindling budget with package postage, since most letters have been replaced by email, texting, and other electronic "instant delivery" media. Ironically, these increases are doing more to push folks that don't absolutely need the service away than they are shoring up their fiscal follies.

Shipping has gone up a lot in the last 4 years. I would say 50%, no matter who you ship with.
Part of the reason shipping is so expensive is because the packaging ain't cheap either. That box it will come in probably costs $2 to 3.00 all by itself.
Like I was recently looking into shipping a map, under 4 oz, and the shipping was $5.95, priority, and that was actually the cheapest method once I found out how much the shipping tube would be. Thats because with priority they provide you with the shipping container for free. Otherwise I would have had to buy the shipping tube, a 20+ inch variety, then combined with First Class shipping, it would have cost me over $7 to ship it! So I actually saved nearly $2 going with priority.
So the Trolls aren't ripping you off, and shipping goes up like a rocket once you get over something like 12 oz. If you want to know, look at the shipping label once you get it, you will see how much they paid.

It really is the post office.
And I'm not saying they're ripping anyone off, just trying to keep in the black. Paper, gas, labor, health insurance for the workers... all up. More overhead = higher prices.
It DOES suck hard, but whaddayagonnado?

All international mail is routed through the US Post Office's outsourced center in India. They have to pay the air fare to get it there and back somehow after all. lol
