Complain about anyway.

Can you guys name some things we benefit from either as a society or individual and yet also complain about?

Example: I enjoy air conditioning yet complain about the power company.
I enjoy NOT living in fear of being murdered by criminals yet complain about cops.

And heres one that prompted this question:

Enjoying the benefits of making a profit, or being hired for freelance work but complaining about capitalism.

I would like to put this into game related fantasy alleghory so please bear that in mind when sharing. All 3 of those above mentioned can be expressed in a fantasy game without too much of a stretch. (Air conditioning can become regular meals and the power company can become the city state. Criminals can become marauding berserkers and the cops become paladins and city guards.)

Please let er rip. Feel free to suggest a fantastic equivalent if one comes to mind.

"What have the Romans ever done for us???" Sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, public health, and peace...

Man, it's great to get healed-up and resurrected when things go wrong...
but, yowza! those clerics sure make ya pay!!

From a peasant viewpoint; "Bah look at those shinybums ridin around with their big swords like they are the cock o the walk, useless big heads".

No complaints heard later as said shinybums ride off to combat dread monster/ferocious enemies/risk their lives.

Dunbruha, the roads go without saying, don't they? I think I've seen that movie a time or two, or fifty.
