Dream Artists For RPGs
Dream Artists For RPGs
What if your favorite (or any other) RPG was illustrated by a single great artist? What artist would be your dream choice for an “Art Edition” of a game?
I personally would have loved to have seen what a Frazetta edition of D&D would have looked like, or how Edward Gorey would have illustrated Call of Cthulhu.
What are the great one-artist editions of RPGs that you would have liked to have seen? Or, what great one-artist editions are still possible?

Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein graphic novel work was pretty awesome. It might make a nice, grim look for a core D&D manual.

I love this guy/gal who did the Yggsburgh cover for TLG and was going to do some of the subsequent CZ book covers.

Would actually like to see how Berkeley Breathed would do RPG Fantasy Art.

While most of his stuff is perhaps best termed cartoon or whimsical, a lot of his more recent works have some really awesome detail and the colors and style are amazing, IMHO.

+1 On Giger - but for the Warhammer 40k RPGs
Of course for a completely ridiculous take on RPGs I'd like to see the artist who draws for the simpsons do an RPG:

Though Mobius really likes his women, I don't think it is a stretch if he drew pictures for Nobilis. Earthdawn, Shadowrun or In Nomine.

Rhu, when I see this it kind of saddens me over the languishing efforts of Castle Zagyg and what could have been (and hopes that one day will be). The cover art for each box set was at least templated, but alas....Rhuvein wrote:I love this guy/gal who did the Yggsburgh cover for TLG and was going to do some of the subsequent CZ book covers.
