goodman module on ebay
One of the better goodman modules (Sunless Garden) is being sold on ebay with little interest. Check it out! (not my auction)

Thanksfor the heads up. I hope I win a couple of those.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

It does seem like a pretty good deal ...

I got one of the three I was interested in. Maybe next time I'll be luckier.

Actually I got a good deal on ebay earlier this week in the form of both both a 1st edition DMG and a PHB (also 1e) for $7 plus $4 shipping. They're both in really good condition and this will be my first real look at 1e in a very long time. I love C&C, but it's gotten me interested in getting some source 1e stuff (I grew up in 2e and I'm bloated with it). Funny, but I think I got them at a good price for a couple of reasons: the dealer (who had a great rating and 3 yr-old account) does not use PayPal or any credit card service and they're the Easley covers (which I love but a good bit of old-schoolers don't for some reason). Now if I can just get an RC for under $40 I'll be set. So there are some good deals on there. At least I'm not trying to get a PS3 or TMX Elmo.
Eh, the 1e stuff, mostly, goes for practically nothing these days. A rare few items fetch a hefty amount, but they are the traditional items of power. What I mean are things like a plastic figure, painted, poorly, missing an arm, going for $20... Of course there are going to be good deals, but at the moment, I've seen every auction I was interested in skyrocketing to obscene amounts, and, through the diabolical practice of BS sniping.
So, if you can find a treasure, great! I can't.

Huh, for around $40, it should be minty or shrink, IMO. I know this book is popular and can get some good prices, but I refuse to pay more than $15.00!
It might be a mental block, but I'm holding out for better pricing on this.
Good luck, btw on getting one cheap!

Well good hunting. That's just the best I've seen for good clean copies of those too since I started looking about month ago. I feel the same as you though when I eye some of the prices which some of the 2e stuff fetches. "Somebody bought the Arms & Equipment guide and a DMG for $40? I've got three copies of each!" I feel the best time may be after Christmas when people start selling their gifts back! After the two 1e books I purchased all I'm really concerned to get hard copies of are the Monster Manual and Unearthed Arcana. Any of the modules I've purchased to run C&C with (which I still love by the way) I've gotten copies of from rpgnow.com. I think that that is a really great way to distribute adventure material and is going to make the module-making business a little more profitable and accessible again I hope. I'm going to have grab me a CK screen too. Now when are they supposed to come out?

Oh yeah. Total sarcasm on my part. I don't understand why that book goes for that much either. I've been watching the bidding for one of them slowly climb it's way up over the past couple of days. I just want the text itself so for now my pdf version will do.

Fortunately, I'm about to clean out my closet so I'm glad it's Christmas on ebay. Frankly, it seems to be a regular phenomenon, although in the very early days of ebay it always seemed to be a post-christmas spike, as newly-computerized dorks plugged in their computer, fired up their brand new AOL or whatever and discovered they could buy old stuff.
Summer is not a good time to sell, IMHO, probably for the same reason the stock and real estate markets cool off. Lots of travelling, upset schedules and routines, etc.
I agree 1E is not worth much out there now, but worth more than it is in my closet. I think the FLGS and Half Price Books may be a better place to sell them.
And for others... I concur $40 seems a bit much for an RC unless it's in outstanding shape.

I believe the Trolls said mid-December, so hopefully we can all get it by the end of the year!

OK, gotcha. Hehe, apparently it's just one of those products that will be in demand and people feel they have to have it at any price. World of Greyhawk boxed sets, seem to be in the same category. I refuse to pay those high prices, so I'm content with my PDF version. I'll probably buy the RC PDF as well.
