The doll
So we're still waiting to get our gas lines ran since the ground froze up. So we've been moving non-essential stuff and a couple nights ago we started setting up Grimmspawns room.Things are going well until Mrs. Grimm gets the idea to put a new decoration in the room. Out of a chest she pulls this creepy ass doll that I would not let her take out for two years. She plops this thing in the kids room and then proceeds to tell me that the doll is watching me.
So, I'll get one thing out there. Certain types of dolls creep the absolute hell out of me. Especially the porcellin ones and those ones that you put in the corner that looks like they're in trouble. Anyway, I'm expecting to go up there and find the thing in another room or hear a little voice say "da-da" or "play with me". Until then I'm gonna try to figure out how to dispose of this menace before I have to live up there with it.

Re: The doll
Now that's just cruel!
The last time we went to this Antique mall, there were so many creepy dolls. I picked up a Keane (the artist's work is mostly sad, void-eyed waifs) print on the cheap there, which is pretty creepy itself.
My girl makes me keep my Beholder plush (named Occy) hidden away.

The only way to dispose of these entities is through exorcism ~ and possibly a sledgehammer. Best of luck with your, dolls. Remember, they're not really watching you...

Dude, I know *exactly* how you feel! My sister used to have this doll whose *head* would turn toward any sound. A couple of weeks went by, and then little Penelope had a mysterious 'accident' that left her headless.
Nothing to see here....move along......
My sister's still pissed about that, actually.

Words cannot describe how creepy her art is...

My wife asked me what I thought of the name Annabelle last night. I'm saving that page for her hoping it was a just a coincidence. That is a seriously messed up story.Philotomy Jurament wrote:

Never saw dolls and possibly never will for obvious reasons.
A side note is that I have been prone to reoccuring nightmares about dolls that take place in an old flea market or house. It's pretty much the same with them watching at first and then upstairs is the human sized rag doll that changes it's features to a creepy old lady. Not pretty stuff. They did inspire some C&C monsters at one time. I'll have to find the notes and post them.

Yep, that's it. Walter Keane, the guy that pretended he was the artist instead of her, was a seriously messed up piece of work in his own right.
You want messed up check out Henry Darger Scary thing is I can almost identify with him at some points and I'd love to see a full priniting of the story as well as all the art with it.

There was nothing better to watch after Headbanger's Ball went off then Friday the 13th-The Series. I loved it. I actually thought about it the other day when my wife and I were watching Charmed (laugh all you want ) and I mentioned that show to her. I was like, "You know, this show kind of reminds me of Friday the 13th: There's an evil person/object. Let's vanquish it!" Really good cheese. That and...Tales From the Darkside.

Why would I laugh? A show thats got three hot looking chicks in it casting spells, im all about that. ^_^
Same reason I watch Hercules, Xena and Angel really.
I would love to be the casting director on any of those

I never really got into watching Hercules, although I did stop on Xena from time-to-time (Lucy Lawless is definitely hot; she did a good job hosting SNL too ), and Angel I don't think that I've ever watched at all. I've never seen Buffy either for that matter. Come to think of it, I've never seen Buffy the movie! As far as the Charmed Ones go: Paige is definitely where it is at! Although Piper has her moments.

Nice. Haven't seen a good creepy/horror film in years. This looks interesting. 4 stars from Amazon reviewers. I'll have to rent this! 8)

Two years later....
The doll war continues. I finally got the damn thing removed from the kid's room. Now it's in the closet. Sounds good? Nope not that simple. Mrs. Grimm puts the thing on my side of the closet where it can look out where I am sleeping if I leave the door open. I usually close it but she opens it sometimes to creep me out.
So, last week I'm writing and since the PC is in the bedroom I'm in there. I thought (hope) the door was closed when I hear it creaking as if it was trying to be opened from the other side. I shut it tight and braced it up.
Mrs. Grimm also informed me she wants a voice chip put in it where it sings the Cuppycake song. Enough is enough. Today Grimmwife removes the shirt i had covering the doll.
I've come to a decision; The doll has to die...

You've been way to rational about this. Time for a nice big bonfire to burn up all those trimmed branches, etc... Then you can tell the wife how you dropped the doll off at a Goodwill store, or equivalent.

I truely feel your pain.
Earlier this year, my mother in law custom ordered "a gift" for my 2 year old daughter. Several weeks later, a large (4x2) box arrived on my doorstep.
It was a freaky 3' doll THAT LOOKED LIKE ME!!!!!!!!! (Sheriff's uniform and all!!!) Mother in law said "Its so cute, so she (my daughter) can see her daddy when he's at work".
Needless to say, it freaked me out, scared the dog, and my daughter. Currently, I have it tied up, back in the box, duct taped shut, in the garage, under heavy items.
I'm waiting a reasonable period of time to shred it and throw it away. Mother in law was crushed.
I am very freaked out by it.

You people got nothin, I tells ya, nothin.
When I was a kid, my sister shared a room with my mother and her WALL of creepy, glassy eyed, porceline dolls (apparently my grandmother didn't think one was enough) were set up in MY room, not 5 feet from my bed.
I spent a long time sleeping completely under the covers. Even in the summer with no AC...

Man, that doll needs to take a trip out of the house. When Mrs. Grimm asks what happened to it, deny, deny, deny! You know nothing. But one of you has to go and it sure as crap isn't going to be Mr. Grimm.
