*sighs* working in the telemarketing industry myself, you have to realize that all telemarketers are as NOT bad as everybody makes them out to be. The industry has changed GREATLY in the past 10 years.

**warning** Just remember that when you are pranking telemarketers most likey they have your ph#, address, and are likely to be able to obtain a ton of personal information.

In my opinion, it's not a smart decision to prank the telemarketers. Just say no thank you and hang up.

Sorry Omote, but I just had to quote this for the humor.
On a more serious note, you're correct. It's like police officers - 'round these parts, they're universally painted as being jerks. But I've actually met some who are great people.

Still thought that bit was hilarious, though. No offense meant.

I once had a roommate who had a telemarketer hang up on him. At some point the telemarketer asked my roommate about his business (he was just a student at the time; no business) and he proceeded to try and sell the guy some t-shirts. The actual conversation was hilarious and my friend didn't miss a beat. Usually I'm polite and just say, "no thank you."

*chuckles* Its the ones that call right back though that drive one bonkers. Especially when my residence is supposedly on the 'do not call' list. And worse, the same ones who call over and over and ask the same things when you've told them repeatedly to take you off their calling list. At one point I had the same company call 3-4 times a day for 3 weeks straight.

Needless to say my language and my descriptions of various impossible places they could deposit their offer waxed eloquent for a time.

I just write down the company name, when they called, and then when it gets good enough to sue I google for a lawsuit against the company and sign up. I've yet to fail to find one, but if I ever do fail I guess I'll start the lawsuit.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
