Inkpot and Rigon,
I believe you are both right for your respective time zones (EST and PST). I am in the PST time zone right now (I live in AZ, a state that does not do daylight savings time changes) So I will start checking out the chat room about 8:00 PM. There are shows I want to watch tonight, so my participation may be limited to commercials.

I used to live in AZ, well I was staioned there in the Marine Corps, I never got used to switching time zones with daylight savings. Of course I never had to change the time on my watch.

Where do Marines get stationed in AZ? BTW, One of my neighbors is a retired Marine Colonel and another is a retired Marine Gunny. They definitely hold to the "Once a Marine, always a Marine!" mind frame.

I was staioned in Yuma, extreme SW corner. It is an samll airbase that will be huge when they transfer all of the fixed wing aircraft from Miramar (San Diego). The transfer will be complete by 2015. I am not as gung-ho as most former Marines, but I only was in for 4 years. I do not miss getting up at 5am to run 6 miles in the desert. I do miss the free room and board.

This is good news all around. Finally, all C&C fans can linger and share on one complete site. All good things.

We used the old chat room (which is still up until the new one goes live) last night....
To aztecman: any chance the new room will have ability to load "sounds" ?
This was a common query about the new room.

Hey, linguists are having a good time dissecting the idiom of fart and burp semantics.

I hope the new one works for me - it was a pain getting kicked off of the society one every time I logged on.

Yeah, hopefully it won't be Java-based which has some weird limitations.
