You placed reserves???
Well on one hand I hate that, but on the other hand I don't think you should be selling these anyways, so I can at least understand having reserves.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

They're really only high enough to keep the "professionals" away from them. It's not so much that I don't want to part with them, it's that I don't want one of the ebay pros to buy it for .99 and then sell it in an online store for $25 (I mean, the regular old modules that usually sell for $3-$4 nowadays plus shipping). There's always a whole raft of bids for the bare minimum, but they generally go away.
BadMike seems to be buying my CZ, which is ok. Maybe he's going to use it. There are some suspicious "new members" too; my ebays seem to attract mysterious first-time buyers who I expect are the alter egos of some of the "pros".

PS. Under Illefarn is a 1E product and is interesting; I have all the maps from the FR CD Atlas, and I wouldn't use the FR info anyway so I can sell it. It's an actual adventure module with an actual dungeon, although the dungeon is a bit unfilled-in.
Well for what its worth I buy to play them, not resell.
The only time I resell is when I buy a lot that has things I want in it, but also has things I already have enough copies of. Like I got all 4 "Complete" books for 3E just recently, along with a bunch of other books I didn't have, all for less than half the price of one 3E book (under $15.00, it was Undearthed Arcana, Dragon Magic, PH 2, Book of 9 Swords, as well as the 4 "Complete" books. Well, I only wanted another copy of one of the "Complete" books and sold the other 3. I offered them up without going to auction on Necromancer and ENWorld for $12.50 each if all 3 were bought, plus actual shipping. They were bought, at a good price, and I made some money on it, as well as essentially getting the books I kept for free.
But that is part of the "greatness" of eBay. Finding those deals like that.
Anyways, I am looking at two of your auctions seriously, because my copies are tearing up, etc... and I just want to have good copies to pass on to my kids. Which is why I buy 3 of everything, eventually.
So I am not a collector, or even a seller, so you won't see any of my copies of Goodmans 1E module up for sale on eBay. They are for me and my kids. Just like any other D&D product I get. Unless I get more than 3 copies.

Hope you get gold for them.
I do know all about the "newbie" trend, though, whne I was selling my recently DoD'd (that is, seven phase Department of Defense hard drive erasure to ensure nothing could be restored, requiring a fresh install of whatever) laptop. Had it sold, twice, but neither ever panned out, and now, its not for sale anymore... yet.

Heh, I'm one of those first time buyers and I sure ain't no Ebay pro!Barrataria wrote:

It's been very interesting seeing how the bidding works. It seems most of the price warring happens in the final seconds!

Interesting! I always assume everyone on the boards also has been an old-time ebayer but I'm glad there are still some taking the plunge for the first time.
I used to get things from the newsgroup alt.games.frp. marketplace, but that was overtaken by ebay long ago; those posts started referring people to ebay, so I've been around there a long time. I have noticed in the last two years or so that the "pros" also get theirs by inflating shipping charges. One guy wanted $28 to ship an AD&D hardback in the US via media mail Ebay has been quite complicit in this practice and now even has a "feature" that allows you to input a "handling" charge which is folded into the shipping charge on an item without itemizing it so no one can see it. That seems to be a new addition; it screwed me up and now several of my auctions have a nonsense postage charge automatically generated by ebay which I'm HOPING corresponds to USPS charges. I changed item descriptions to warn people that I don't know where those numbers are generated from and what they include or don't include.
And yes, there are often a flurry of bids right at the end, although I don't know any of these things are going to generate that. For my personal sanity I try to decide what object X is worth to me, and bid that in the first place. Then you don't have to keep looking back and back to make sure you get it, although I still do that sometimes anyway. It doesn't prevent thinking I should have paid .25 more for something sometimes. But I've also been very glad someone's come along at the end and bailed me out for something I overbid on and have gotten buyers' remorse on.
I don't think I've ever withdrawn a bid. And I think I've only had one disappearing buyer with the stuff I've unloaded over the years. Quite a few crooked sellers, unfortunately. That also sometimes leads to brand-new IDs but I still don't like limiting auctions to people with certain amounts of feedback because I'm afraid to lock out legitimate first-timers.

I think that's great! One of the things I pay attention to is cost of shipping (since I'm in Canada) and I have seen my share of ridiculous costs. I'm currently bidding on a couple of items and the reserve prices you set were VERY reasonable.
Hope all your auctions do well!

Thanks Barrataria!
So *YOU'RE* the one!
LOL
There was some interesting back in forth near the end of that auction! Let's just say I'm happy that it was someone else on these boards rather than some other eBay stranger!
Congrats!
I won the EX1 and EX2 mods myself.

That was you eh?! LOL
I didn't want to tell folks or Barrataria who I was so normal bidding could take place. Barrataria deserves the best price he can get.
And Barrataria selling those three caused me to buy someone else's A4! Which was another major bidding battle. I ended up paying way more than I wanted to, so I had to make sure I got Barrataria other three!
Congrats on your win!

LOL -- I couldn't agree more...
I was only going to start tracking down and bidding on A4 if I won the auction... Of course I wasn't going to let it go without a bit of a fight.
I'm glad you got it though... (seeing that you tracked down A4).
Enjoy!
