Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Saw this today. Not even close to being "Oscar material", but I had a good time watching it. Good fight scenes, nasty looking witches, a great Troll with an unusual twist, a steam punk look to a lot of elements, especially the weapons. It also gave me several new ideas for future gaming. Definitely a movie I am going to watch again, several times.

I would not take kids to it. It has a fair amount of body parts flying around, as well as a nude scene with a very attractive woman, but no sex. On screen anyways. Wives who like the guy who plays Hawkeye will get a decent view of him as well, so eye candy for all. So depending on how your raising your kids, definitely follow the age advisory. I would have taken my kids when they were 13 or so. I don't recall what they have it rated as. Didn't need to look since only my wife and I went.

So if you want to get out of the house and go see a movie, I think you'll have fun watching this one. Definitely check it out once it comes out on DVD, Netflix, etc...

It's rated R.

Our choice for this month's movie came down to H&G or Warm Bodies. We went the other way (and were happy with our choice), but we'll definitely watch H&G at some point.

This one's probably going to be a Netflix wait for me.

I don't get into steampunk at all so not even rental worthy for me. Thanks for the heads up.

Its far from being true Steam Punk, it just has some of the look. Especially in the weapons, which are all gun powder weapons, not one thing was actually powered by steam. So I think you can safely have fun watching the movie.
