I did something really stupid.

Today I notified my boss, that I am leaving the only law firm/real job I have ever had and will be going solo. I am a mix of emotions. Happy, sad, excited, and terrified.

This evening I went from feeling free to thinking "Oh, my F***ing God! What did I just do? Where is the reverse button?"

So, onward with a new adventure. I will either succeed or flame out in glory. Either way, it is going to be a hell of ride.

As the author of a book my wife bought me says this is my time to "own my talent and not lease it."

When I was young lawyers were always at the top of my list of hated professions. Now that I have grown up and don't find myself on the other side of the law, lawyers have taken a nose dive in unpopularity.

Now it is...

1. Insurance companies
2. Banks
3. The 1%

Seriously, every dealing I've had with lawyers I find the smaller firms give you so much more. You always feel like a number with bigger firms. I'd also gather that your charge will not be equal to the big firms, another incentive.

I think we as a community need to do what we can to help our fellow member in his exciting new endeavour.

So, any gamers in the Minnesota region, please increase your nefarious activities. Divorces, car "accidents", assaults, burglaries... piracy on the high seas.

In fact, in many cases, you have the perfect defence as you can simply claim you were LARPing (When you make that claim to the arresting officer make sure to add a wink as you say it).

Not only is Nwelte a good egg but he is more than qualified to argue the LARP defence(tm). It is a license for mayhem people!

I meant to comment on this earlier . . but I think you made a great decision!

Even if it doesn't work out, it won't be a failure ~ but a life choice/experience that is important in your career. And if you didn't do it now, you might regret it later when you might not be able to try this.
