Doing a C&C Demo this friday!

Post by Inkpot »

Yup, I'll be running "The Beacon At Enon Tor" this friday at Dragonrail (my friend's game shop). Cool thing is that Becky (said friend) is going to give me 20% commission on every C&C product she sells as a result of my demo. So I get to play C&C, introduce others to my favorite game *AND* make some spare change all at the same time.

I'm smiling again.

Very cool. May it go very well, and may plenty of C&C products be sold after the demo

Yeah, I am looking at running some games at my LGS in the next month or so. No "deals" from the owner, but if I can get some of these people interested, thats cool enough.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Good luck!

Don't be too dissapointed if some players who seem to like the game don't buy from the store that day. In my experience, some like to think about their experience for a while first. They may come back days later.

An idea would be to mention a second demo game for those who'd like to try a second session. That may cause a more immediate purchase of a PHB because they'll want to know the rules fully before the next game.

Sounds like a good deal, even if you dont get paid that should be fun.

Well, I've been holding my regular game at the store and whenever we're playing, I usually have at least a couple of people ask me what we're playing...recently got two more players in the campaign on the same day that way.
We always have alot of fun.

Hey that's great Ink. As always, hope it goes well and you introduce new players to the game. You mentioned Becky in the other post, and she sounds like a great person and a good business woman.

Hmm, since my LGS is ever so un-friendly, maybe I should start ordering from her store!

That's great news Ink... let us know how the first session goes!

BTW -- Does your friend have a site for her store... a place to possibly do some online ordering? If so, please forward us the link, I for one would love to check it out!

Sadly, the website is not even close to being finished despite my desperate urgings to her. She says she wouldn't be able to compete with ebay's prices, and so places a low priority on web commerce. The only thing on the site at the moment are some D&D miniatures. However, if your curiosity is driving you frantic: http://www.dragonrail.com/catalog/index.php =)
