Currency Exchange???

I'm sorry. I have forgotten what the currency exchange rate was for PP > EP > GP > SP > CP. I know the PHB has the 100cp=10sp=1gp rate, and D&D3.5 (I think) has 10gp=1pp. My books were "purged" in the horror show that was gaming in the early 90s, and the only other player that remembers AD&D can't remember either (and he always borrowed my books back in the day).
If I hadn't played on Everquest (100gp=1pp) and other D&D-influenced games that slightly adjusted the currency rate, I'm sure it would be right clear to me.
Thank you,
Commercially embarrased
P.S. The main sticker for me is the ol' electrum (?) piece. We're running Blacktooth Ridge and it keeps popping up. That and however many zeroes one needs behind his '1' gp to make a pp. D&D3.5 seems to have dropped the e.p. totally, and differs from other games on the p.p.

OD&D eliminates the electrum piece but is otherwise identical to BECMI.
BECMI D&D has it as 100cp=10sp=2ep=1gp (no pp).
AD&D PHB has it as 200cp=20sp=2ep=1gp=1/5pp.

BECMI D&D = Basic Expert Companion Master Immortal (Boxed set) D&D ?
er, which one is C&C going with ? LoL
I'm assuming the AD&D exchange rate. Since the (non-A)D&D has no plat. It might've been easier just recalculating all the treasures in Blacktooth Ridge

Actually, if I recall correctly, the C&C money system is based off the SRD. I never paid much attention to the C&C money system though because I have an altered money system that fits my gaming beliefs much better.

REALLY?
Well, what do you know... although I started playing AD&D 2nd ed but influenced by others who played previous versions / editions of the game, I used the BECMI version you indicated above with the addition of platinum of 5 gp = 1 pp
It's times like these where I sometimes feel like picking through my old books just to read and check them out again. For the most part I seldom used the books for anything other than character creation, spells, monsters, and magic items! I picked up the rules when I started playing (since the game was simpler back then compared to current 3.x edition )

I've always used 1000 CP = 100 SP = 1 GP = 1/5 EP = 1/20 PP.
Basically, SP are pennies, GP are dollars, EP are $5, and PP are $20.
Officially, though, C&C uses a monetary system that Gary doesn't like Hehe. Its a 10:1 ratio on everything as far as I recall.

While I am working on certain aspects of my gameworld, I am sticking with the generic increments of 10, with Electrum pieces being equivalent to 50 cent pieces and copper being pennies.
I do have an idea for a richer in flavor monetary system for each of the kingdoms, but that would involve a good deal of extra work that I am just not interested in persuing so strongly. If I am going to do that, I am going to do that right.
Which involves some serious work and thought on the economy across the Kingdoms. Availability of goods, different prices for goods at different locations, based upon availability, money changers, the whole nine.
Quite frankly, there's enough on my plate with conspiracy plot that's driving my current campaign.

Well what do you know? They revamped that for the 1991 D&D basic game from the same time frame. I stand corrected regarding BECMI.

Nelzie, check out my house rules (click the link in my signature to take you to my site where you can look). I went through the work of doing the whole thing.
In short, 20tp = 1cp = 1/100sp = 1/1000gp. No electrum or platinum pieces, added tin as a coin, the money system is on a copper standard, and to really confuse everyone, the values of the silver and gold pieces don't match what's stamped on the coin. Assuming of course that you actually find silver and gold in treasure hordes (amounts of silver and gold reduced by 100 and 1000 respectively).
