Both sites (RPGNow and DriveThru) are down, and yes, they are owned by the same company.

The last time I looked they were only selling the 1st Printing of M&T. Which printing did you get?

It's the 1st printing still. According to Steve (online products forum) it should be the 2nd printing and he was supposed to look into it. I need to call him about some back issues of the Crusader anyway so I'll remind him then.
I didn't worry about it much as, unless TLG specifically makes it a separate product, I can download the update when they make it (RPGNow gives you five downloads so if TLG just updates which version they're selling I can pick up the new copy then).

Thanks Jackal. I do like the multiple product download opportunity the RPG Now and Drive Thru offer, even if they do retrict it to five.

Why order from one over the other? Does one offer promotions that the other doesn't?

They merged about a couple of years or so ago. I don't recall the particulars, but I remember them advertising it when they did, saying that now they were the largest on-line provider of RPG downloads.

Yeah, the PHB that's up is the 3rd printing but the M&T is still the 1st printing.

The restricted number of downloads is what really irks me the most. I seem to recall an unlimited number of downloads sometime before the merger.

Aye, Paizo still allows unlimited downloads once purchased. I don't know why RPG Now / Drive Thru decided to limit the number of times you could re-download a purchased PDF product.

that is why the zips go one a dvd or some such when I have enough and all my pdfs reside on both my main machine harddrive and backed up to the portable. which also means I can have them where ever I need them
