Chronicles of Scandia by Gaston the Bard.
Book 1:
In Search of the Silver Dragon.
As told to Count Rhuveinus by his grandfather the alchemist and 7th Earl of Franqueforte, Maurice Henri, Esq.
In the year of Thor 277, peace and prosperity reigned over the lands. Humans, elves, halflings, and dwarves prospered and lived together in harmony. Evil creatures were subdued, driven out or left to their own devices and families could live and thrive without fear. The Gods of good had dominion over those of evil and all was well for a millennia.
That was until a foggy darkness seemed to arise from across the eastern sea. A white dragon began to appear in the skies over Trondheim. No man could recall seeing any dragons from long ago, let alone a white one ~ flying the sky above.
Panic set in and then chaos. Clerics were uncertain, wizards seriously concerned, warriors unduly grave but only the bards seemed to continue as though nothing had changed in the world.
And why not? If the bards were gnomes, then no explanation is necessary, eh?
And if Gaston were a gnomish bard lord and intimate of an ancient and powerful Silver Dragon who alerted him to the presence of a white dragon. What then?
Well, you shall know of the “what then”!
Gaston is a great story teller and did indeed live and befriend the great Silver Dragon, Lord Argenteus who saved the world of mankind. And since gnomes are ancient creatures, who then would be better to tell the tales of dragons and men?
