I didn't know that! As a former Army soldier and now National Guard soldier, commend the Trolls.

Great way to support the boys. I can definately say there's a bunch of gamers in the military (at least the Army, from my experience). This will surely be a welcome gift. Now I have to talk myself out of trying to re-up for a discount. 50%!!! Good stuff.

Active duty military personnel get a 50% discount on
all TLG Games!
To Steve & all the other Trolls out there THANKS!
Now I'll have to clear out even more shelf space. I wonder just how closely my wife pays attention to what books are in what pile when she dusts........

Yes, this is a very commendable gesture. TLG supports their fans, the troops... what next? TLG to stop the melting of the polar ice caps?!
Seriously, great work Trolls.

Actually, maybe they have stopped the melting of the polar ice caps!

*smiles* Both Davis and Steve are former military. It also should be noted that their name, Chenault, has associations with a group called the Flying Tigers.

Yeah the Chenault boys were Army pukes. I'm ex Air Force, personally, but I won't hold the Army thing against them, they didn't know better at the time
Seriously: Nice work on the military discounts, chieftains.

*EDIT* Post content removed by the author.
This might not be the appropriate place to vent on global warming deniers. Sorry about that...
Now on TLG's initiative, I think that it's a great gesture.

Sorry, didn't mean to head things off topic. I had just heard in passing that some though some polar ice caps were actually increasing in size. So I did a quick search of Google to find an article, any article, to use for my gest.

I knew we should have put the 'Stump' forum back up. A place for debates of this nature. There really is no hard and fast rule for these sorts of discussions. Folks have jabbered over controvertial subjects on these boards before and managed to keep it friendly. Most sorts of topics are ok if they can be kept friendly, but what I have noticed is a tendency for controvertial subjects to quickly overwhelm all the more relavent discussion going on. So it's not advised to get into subjects that can bring forth heated debate. Especially on a customer/ fan based social interactive forum.
There are plenty of fora for such discussions on the net, it's hoped that the TLG forums can be, for the most part, a friendly atmosphere.
So, that being said, keep it friendly and the topics wont be nuked. ^_~`

TLG , thanks for supporting our troops! As a former soldier, I appreciate just knowing you are willing to make this gesture. My brother currently serves in Iraq and I like to see the support.
Support is not what we get from the media outlets. The 'big' stories are madonna adopting an african child, or who stabbed who in the back in politics, etc, etc, etc. The heroes serving, and falling, for our nation deserve coverage for their heroism and sacrifices for their fellow soldiers. This is coverage that does not happen.

Well understood, I'll be more careful not to discuss topics that are too unrelated to gaming. I had no hostile intentions toward any of TLG's forums users and I do agree with what you said. Sorry again.

This is something I think is very commendable. And something that keeps me coming back to them for my gaming stuff!
