Even at $500.00 I am very tempted.
Definitely 100 times better, but at 10 times the cost it is too rich for my wallet.
I hear you, buying it would eat up a good chunk of our savings... So I will vacillate on it for as long as I can and then hope he is sold out when I finally contact him. Problem solved!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

One of the local game stores here had the D&D Attack Wing Version, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger as well.

I was surprised it didn't have an scenario specific stuff with it as some of the other like the Gold Dragon for Attack Wing did. Decent enough though. I was also a bit surprised that the Attack Wing version didn't have a black circular stand. The box picture has the circular stand like you've all pictured (as that is what the Icons of the Realm Miniature comes with), I figured they would give you both especially for the price they were asking.

Compared to the Paizo Gargantuan Dragons it is definitely smaller. As are all the Dragons for Attack Wing, they're really about a large size base, even the Bronze Dragon I got in an Elemental Evil miniature pack (with round base) was a large base and compared to the D&D White Dragon (large) from a few years ago, the Bronze base was slightly smaller.

Initially I was perplexed that they didn't keep the same size. I get you might want a smaller dragons for a Field of Battle Type thing, especially when you want to have the focus on dragons.

I took some photos of the various dragons and then went ahead and looked at my Paizo Pawns Sets and the bases there. Interestingly, the Large bases (Old WOTC, New WOTC, and Paizo) are all pretty close. I then pulled out some Pathfinder Pawns and bases looking at the Pawns for Dragons. Looking first at the "Large" Sized Pawns, I'd find a descriptors will say, for example Adult White Dragon or Young Red Dragon. But both are large.

It put the Attack Wing and Elemental Evil Set Dragons in perspective, that they really are simply "Large" Sized Dragons. I think what is throwing me off (and maybe others) is the Attack Wing Bases that are square are of the Huge Size (I compared them to a Huge Sized Paizo Pawn Base), but they are clearly intended to be "Large" sized Dragons. I think the Attack Wing bases are square, because of easy of reading, movement, combat, etc. and to follow along with Attack Wing System.

The Icons of the Realm Tiamat with the Round Base looks to be clearly Gargantuan not huge. But the Square Base that comes with the Attack Wing is commensurate is much larger than the Paizo Gargantuan Dragon Base.

While I don't have the WOTC Colossal Dragon, I would suspect the Attack Wing is pretty close unless there a step between Gargantuan and Colossal
