Very nice and sized right! $45.00

Thankfully, I've finished my lusting and purchasing of minis. I do have a great selection of dragons!!

I've noticed that the latest round of these minis have the stand. I'm not sure if I like that or not.

Beautiful figure, though!

:P

Plastic from wotc!!

90% of my mini are plastic (or whatever compound they use) and the remaining 10% are metal from the old days!

This from a quick google to see what slimy was talking about. I don't know anything about this website/company, but I'll post the link:

Thanks, slimy. I loved collecting those minis several years back. Many online book retailers - BAMM, buy.com and Amazon had the boxes for dirt cheap. But I only used so very few during our FtT games . . until Fields of Battle.

I was obsessed with this great game after playing with Casey, Rigon, Treebore, Morty et. al. down at TrollCON!

I came back from the CON and arranged a huge FoB game on my dining room table and ran the game for several months. It was one of the most awesome things I've ever done in D&D gaming.

I posted a thread on the TLG boards (the one before this one) with loads of pics and commentary, but that thread either didn't port over to this site or I just can't seem to find it here.

Anyway, I love dragon minis!! :)

I've used Miniature Market before, and just used them again! Thanks, Rhu, this mini is $80 at Amazon.

Excellent! Good to know!

Your collection of minis must be awesome as well. Probably way bigger than mine!

It used to be pretty small, less than 100, but since then I have backed 3 Reaper Kickstarters, Bones 1, Bones 2, and the CAV (mechwarrior type stuff), so now have over 1,000 mini's. Of which maybe only 40 are painted. :P

Those skeletons are from the WotC plastic line(s)? Hmm.

Wow, Rhuvein, that's insanely awesome. The front of that castle looks familiar, though - was it from an old toy set?

I actually like the older version of Tiamat better:

I have both. Paid 48$ for the new one and 65$ for the older one.

Yes, most of them are very well done, IMO. I haven't looked in quite some time, but I bet they could be had on ebay, cheaply.

Indeed, Fisher-Price mebbe? Hehe, it does seem to stand out and look "toyish"!! :)

What's the size difference, if any?

Thanks.

Relatively close - I think the base of the old one is 3x3 and the new one is 4x4. I'll have to get home and measure to be sure.

I found this pic online with the comparison:

Rhuvein: Awesome Miniature display. Who one the Field of Battle?!

Slimy & DMSam: Reference the Tiamat Miniature. Thanks for posting the pics. Good to see the old Tiamat and new side by side. I've held off from getting the new model only because I've read somewhere they're going to release the same miniature but for D&D Attack Wing. I don't really want to buy the miniatures twice (now if they'd announce they'll release the cards and bases later, I'd pull the trigger on Tiamat and Bahaumet now). Anyone here anything on this?

I don't think I finished the battle, due to the incredible amount of time it would have taken. And that's my bad, cause I completely overdid the scenario.

I did look for my original thread and found it here, but after the port of old forum to this one, all the pics - connected to the thread were lost.

Anyway, the battle was extremely close - as I had tried to lay it out to be fair. I seem to recall the good guys having the edge at the very end.

:)

Guess what arrived today? It is pretty damn small, definitely not on the same scale as the Dragons from their last mini sets. Not even close. Tiamat is a baby in comparison to them. Still, looks good for its size, etc...

Now THIS is a Tiamat!!

Even at $500.00 I am very tempted.

Definitely 100 times better, but at 10 times the cost it is too rich for my wallet.

Yep, anything over $75 might be too much.

But, I would love to paint that (cause it's big and I can see it) rather than 10K minis!!! :D
