Does anyone know anything about the Sovereign Stone products put out by Sovereign Press? What little I have read, the setting sounds fairly interesting, and even as a d20 line I can make use of setting info for C&C.
I saw them at Noble Knights for unbelievable prices. I picked up 7 books (3 hardcover, 3 softcover, 1 module) for right around $36. Figured for the price it's a pretty good deal even if I dont get much mileage out of 'em.
So, anyone have any of the books and able to tell me their thoughts? I know it's Larry Elmore's world and Weiss and Hickman wrote a trilogy set there? I've never talked to anyone who has seen these.
Sovereign Stone?

Sovereign Press has initially worked on the series, but now Whitesilver Publishing is doing them. The setting initially had its own rules set, the same basic rules used for the Serenity RPG, but then it transferred to d20 when those rules became popular.
Weis and Hickman have done the Sov. Stone trilogy. I haven't read it yet myself, but I hear it's excellent.
Magic is elemental in nature, with void being the evil element. There's some nifty rules for magic in the Codex Mysterium.
Orks are sorta cool, as they're descended from the orcas (killer whales). They're related to water. Dwarves are horse-riders. Pecwae are the setting's halflings. I don't remember much about the elves, though I think the nobility has face paint.
It's been a while since I looked at it all, but it's pretty good from what I remember. I think you got a great deal and a lot of good material to work with.

Meh... traditional fantasy elements mixed with oriental flavor kinda grates on me. However, the Codex Mysterium is a very cool book. The novels are pretty neat, especially if you like Weis & Hickman's writing style.
Overall though... meh.
