Super bad commercials bowl ~ Sunday!

Post by Tadhg »

So, I've always enjoyed my Sundays as I'm sure most of you do as well.

But, since I started working in retail sometimes I work Sunday but don't mind at all (I'd rather get paid than lay around on the couch, right?).

Anyway, tomorrow looks to be a great Sunday for me:

No work
Sleep in
Fab breakist (blueberry pancakes, bacon and hash browns) and coffee natch
Football (go Peyton!)
Take dogs for a walk between games
Daughter visit!
New episode of Downton Abbey (which I actually watch on Monday)

And the ~ piece de resistance  C&C gaming online!

Many of us here have been gaming online on Sundays for many years!

So,

What's your Sunday like?

Well this Sunday is turning out to be interesting. Still a lot of snow on the ground, so consequently many businesses are still closed. Charlotte basically shuts down when there is snow (this is why I left Chicago!!). So far the day has been coffee & breakfast, looking around this site and DF, a little morning news, and trying to get moving. I'm typically at the gym by now, but since that's closed, I'm moving on to the house cleaning part of the day. I'll be done by noon, & will prep for my C&C game with my son. Meeting some neighborhood folks at a local tavern for the last half of the AFC game and then to watch the Panthers beat the Cards. I'm still a Bears fan, but have to root for the local team since the Bears stink.

All in all, a pretty good day lined up!

I hit the YMCA to swim at 8. I headed into the office to get some stuff lined up for this week and I'm now wrapping that up. I'll need to hit the grocery store to get stuff for dinner and lunches this week. Mostly, I'm going to enjoy some football and reading Savage Worlds Deluxe. I love me some Peyton (even in his twilight years), so I'm bracing myself for a disappointing afternoon.

Whoa, 8am swimming!!! You must be an early riser.

I learned to swim at the YMCA at Lincoln & Belmont in Chicago. I think I read somewhere that a huge majority of people also learned there.

Peyton didn't disappoint, but I think next week will be challenging. Although, the defense is riding a high and if they maintain it, they could be the X factor.

And of course, I'm thinking of the defense of those Bears 30 years ago!!

Tomorrow . . .

no football! :x

But, I'll do mucho cooking and then spend the afternoon prepping for my C&C game in the evening. New adventure, so lots to do!

I'll probably do my skillet breakfast mashup to start the day - although blueberry waffles instead of pancakes is calling my name.

Tomorrow I get to spend my Sunday doing roof repairs. I hope to be done in time to play in nwelte's game. Just with the rains expected this coming week, I can't stop until I'm done.

Sorry to hear that. I seem to recall you having to do roof repairs in the past.

House maintenance is a lovely thing, ain't it? NOT.

I need a new roof as my insurance only gave me 5K for damage from a major wind/hail storm couple of years ago, but we used it to fix the inside.

I did roof repairs on my first house, but I don't think I could or would want to undertake the whole enchilada by myself! Hehe, it would be a month of work!

Yeah, the hardest part is getting all the materials up there. Everything else is easy in comparison. At least this time its on my one story house, and not my two story garage. So I can cheat by just loading up the bucket in my front loader, and lift it up to the roof that way. :D

What a great city! Its only a 3 hour drive from us. We usually spend a few weekends a year down there.

It definitely has a lot of variety to it. From all the old mansions, to the farms you can go self pick at, to the places to pick up fish, shrimp and crab caught fresh just an hour or three before you buy it, to all the great restaurants and Ocean beaches, its definitely a great place to visit or live at. I even got to experience the college life while living there, since I got both of my degree's at the College of Charleston. They have a lot of great grounds they own or control, plus the main campus itself is right down town. Their grounds put a lot of big name colleges to shame, thats for sure.

Today . . no C&C game! :x

But I did get a game in last night!

I did most of my cooking yesterday (Irish Stew) and the day before (baked ziti) for the game, so today I do get to read some monsters manuals and do prep work for next week's game.

In a bit, I'm going to make some Asian style slaw and bake some pigs in a blanket.

And THEN, I'll be mixing up some adult root beer floats (Sailor Jerry spiced rum and/or Tito's vodka)!

Go Peyton and the Broncs!!

Enjoy your Sunday, Crusaders!

We spent Saturday at a (console) game store and I picked up some stuff I didn't have, like a Deadpool game and some Assassin's Creed titles. And then we went home and spent Sunday playing them. Or rather, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.
