Agreed. Pan's Labyrinth looks so cool, anfd a couple of friends say that movie MUST be seen. However, Like PB above I think I want to see the english dubbed version. Maybe on DVD.

Maybe I'll just get off my lazy duff and go see it anyways.

I will say this about the Pan movie; The person who wrote it knows his folklore real well. And, if nothing else, there are some fantastic gaming ideas contained therein.

I'm going to see Ghost Rider a 2nd time today...taking the wife. Took all 4 kids yesterday.

For those who still aren't sure about seeing it yet, consider this, I'll have paid for 7 tickets and am not complaining...so it's gotta be worth buying one or two.

Hmm... 3 things to consider. Miller6 is either an uber-fan, deranged or Ghost Rider is an OK movie. *shakes* Must hear more reviews first from fellow nerds...

Never read the comic.

Movie was just as cool the second time around.

It's a big budget marvel super hero flick packed with cool special effects and a fiery undead evil kneivel in a black leather jacket who laughs insanely while blazing around on a hellspawn chopper and kicking butt with a chain. Not your typical goodguy. This one has a "don't mess with me" attitude. Even warns the cops "You're pissing me off."

Nick Cage was humorous and owned the role from the getgo. Sam Elliot was classic western cool. Peter Fonda was a suprisingly believable devil.

Well cast. Well acted. Well written. No obvious plot holes, 1 very cool though somewhat predictable plot twist that'll make you wanna game when you get home.

So for your 8 bucks you get 3 big name actors, 1 split personality superhero, 5 supernatural villians, decent music (including Ozzi's "Crazy Train" and a worthy remake of "Ghost Riders") and cool special effects in a boot hill meets spawn setting. Even the credits are cool.

Comparison...better than Daredevil or Hulk, way better than Elektra or Cat Woman, on par with Fantastic Four and X-men and Spiderman.

Any questions?

Anyone care for a mint?

That is a glowing review when compared with the reviews even comic book fans give these movies. I might be changing my mind. Miller6, you don't work for Marvel, do you?

The thing that "worries" me the most about this movie is that grim and gritty anti-heroes such as the Ghost Rider tend to be watered down quite a bit when they are portrayed on screen, especially if the character happens to be dealing with demons or the Devil himself... That PG-13 rating is a must reach target for the studios but not all characters can appropriately be soften up without breaking some of its core components. Did they do justice to the source material in this case?

A few other gaming sites have posters who have seen the movie and pretty much everyone agrees that the look of the film is cool, the CGI is generally pretty awesome... but the acting is bad. I don't mind Nic Cage, but as Johnny Blaze, he'd have to be a damn good actor.

This is second hand information coming from 2 friends of mine. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM AND THIS IS NOT MY OPINION.

There was a group of about 5 of them who went yesterday to see Ghost Rider. To quote:

"So you guys went to see Ghost Rider yesterday?"

"Yeah, we went to the Matinee"

"So what did you think?"

"Let me put it this way, it was so bad, it's not even worth downloading"

"oic then"

So take it for what its worth?

All depends on what you're looking for.

Those who want blood and guts will be disappointed. This isn't a gore-factor horror.

As far as the acting goes, I never read Ghost Rider so I don't know what Johnny Blaze from the comics is like. Cage was entertaining none the less. If ghost rider in the comics is an over-the-edge demonic insane killer type like the clown from twisted metal, then this was a PG version, but still entertaining in its own right. The gal that played Blaze's girlfriend had an unnecessary role in the movie. Her character could've been omitted completely, but that's not unusual for marvel flicks.

It was a pretty decent story with good actors. I wouldn't put it up there with SpiderMan or X-Man 1&2 but it was worth it. My only real complaint was that the flight scenes with the three henchmen bad guys were really short and very underwhelming. I mean these are supposed to fallen angels that have been around since the beginning of creation. You'd think that they would have been tougher opponents.

Also, the romance between Johnny and Roxanne was pretty much formula.

I actually considered the story rather lame, with a bad group of action scenes, weak romance and even weaker psychological aspect on the main character. To me the movie was somewhat saved by the actors (mainly Nicholas Cage and the older rider) and the good effects.

It failed to impress me, truly, al thing sin it were less than another marvel hero movie already did.
