C&C CRPG idea

Post by Rigon »

I've been hacking it up lately on Icewind Dale/Heart of Winter and I got to thinking, I'd love to play a computer rpg, in the IWD/HoW/BG style, using C&C as the base rule set. Hell, I'd even pay for it.

The mechanics of C&C can make such a game work. If they could do it with 2E, they could do it with C&C.

Icewind Dale I and II are great games. Still play them from time to time to this day.

Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate and Planescape:Torment were some of the best games that came out for PC's hands down. If TLG could do something similar then I would be all for that!

I loved Icewind Dale, one of my favorite games. Icewind Dale II, I have tried dozens of times, but never get past halfway and then I lose intrest in it., I don't know why.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one. As to why, I think it was just too predictable? Too much "the same"?

Eh, I'm not sure either.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I think the game just bogs down to much. I had actually made it close to the end, then my computer crashed. I've never played it past half way since then.

I solved Icewind Dale expeditiously, but still have yet to solve II. Don't know what it is. Maybe the story just didn't drive me as much, or maybe the appeal of the first game wore off; hard to say. Same with Baldur's Gate. Made it through the first one with no problem and pure excitement, but try as I might, i can't seem to get through Shadows of Amn. Oh, well, maybe when I retire and have mucho time on my hands...
But a C&C computer game with the feel of old school but the streamlined and genius mechanics of SIEGE, that would be butt-kcikin'!!! I would buy and play it in an instant.

A gamer can dream...

I liked the character generation of Icewind Dale. Very excellent figures and artwork. The game itself was very interesting, but I never got very far. I gave it to my nephew who plays almost as much as Diablo II.

Love to see a Castles & Crusades game someday! 8)

Here's and idea: Castle Zagyg done as the backdrop for the game.

If I could hack the codes for IWD, I'd make it into a C&C game. Unfortunately, I don't how to do any of that, so I'll have to hope and dream.
