That's awsome! You can't go wrong with old country and southern rock.

The cool thing is that there's plenty of newer stuff that hearkens back to old southern rock and honky-tonk country without being too stuck in a time warp. Check out Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly, Scott Miller and the wealth of others who manage to keep music from slipping too much into a void of "made-for-teens-and-clubgoers" crap! Thank God for XM Radio!

That song gives me goosebumps! I've heard it ever since I can remember.

Last year, I tried out with my local Special Forces unit. I came close, but didn't pass the initial evaluation and learned it's not for me in this period in my life. Out of 100 who did, 7 made it. Of them, for 4 it was their second try. Those 7 are now in SF training in Ft. Bragg, NC to earn their Green Berets.

People forget how tough Green Berets are. They do so much for our country, most of which is never known by the general public. They hardly even earn awards for their service. But that's not why they do what they do.

That was Barry Sadler, correct? Great song. Very popular back then. And I remember the movie with John Wayne and Jim Hutton!
