The new cover has been sent to the web-master. I'm working on the detailed TOC so we can post that and people can get a better idea of what is coming.

It's good to see a small update, and I'm liking the new box set cover. Blue = Nice. Reminds me of the Mentzer Expert box set a little.

I am -in fact- lobbying hard with the Mrs. for a trip to WI in June next year, so I hope to attend. In addition to "AC&C", I'll be bringing my Moldvay/Cook rules as well as C&C Basic (if it's out ). I'll bring my "Skull Mountain" module.

Sounds good to me. I've already told my better half that we'll be taking a trip to Lake Geneva next June (just have to make sure I'm back home in Ohio the next weekend for Origins.)

No halflings either. (v. Basic D&D)

That's OK by me, though. I rarely use all the PC races in a given campaign anyway.

What I'm curious about is how the Elf class gets handled. Will it be a Fighter/Mage like in B/X or more like a Ranger? Or something else entirely? I wonder how easily the racial classes would port to "Full" C&C if the kiddies move on to higher levels with their PCs.

EDIT: Are the rule books going to be pre-punched for putting into a binder? I really love that about my Moldvay/Cook rules.

I do have floating around in the back of my head a Basic expansion where other race classes will be presented: the Halfling, Gnome and Ogre.

Pre-punched books. I hadn't thought of that! That's a good idea!

Well we be seeing additional releases for Basic C&C (adventures, etc.) or is it intended to be a stand-alone product?

Additional material. My thinking is that the systems will be pretty integrated, in that if you are playing C&C, you can port the character classes over without too much difficulty. Some tweaking will be necessary, for instance your primes are already chosen for you in Basic C&C (this aspect still needs some play testing).

Though obviously our main focus is the Basic set and Lejendary Adventure right now.

Awesome. The new description on the ad page is really rockin'. It's very detailed in what you get for your money.

This probably won't come as a surprise, but I LOVE the idea of an expansion booklet, or box set that includes other racial classes. Very reminicent of the older eras of play. Excellent thought and count me in for playtesting! The FPQ needs some more playtest materials!

Does anybody else think that with all of this C&C Basic talk, that it's time we have a forum for C&C basic? Is it too early yet? With the imminent release of the Basic Box set, maybe it's time to collect all of these thoughts into a single forum?

Thoughts?

I'm certainly ready for a C&C Basic forum.

I've got a setting I've been waiting for months for this product to flesh it out. I also agree that we could run adventures at Winter Dark.

I'm just afraid that its release is still a few months away.

I hope we can maintain the buzz through its release.

Again, all this excitement just from a few paragraphs from Steve.

We are hungry, aren't we?

I suspect a forum might appear when the product is out. It's a bit premature at this point to devote an exclusive forum to something that hasn't appeared in print, IMHO.

Heh, that might make the game too basic. But then again, as a nostalgia piece such a convention might be neat. Although, there are many, many gamers that have never seen chits distributed with RPG gaming material.
