Julain Grimms Quick and Dirty BBQ sauce

So I'm going to grill the other day and found I didn't have my favorite sauce on hand. The closest store that carries it is 30 miles and I didn't want to go to town.

In a hurry I ran to the corner gas station and picked up a bottle of Kraft BBQ sauce. Knowing it needed some kick to it I poured some in a bowl added Salt and Pepper, a few shakes of Cholula hot sauce and about a 1/4 to 1/2 can of Busch Beer. The result? A damn fine sauce that had what I needed in a pinch and something I may tweak to perfection later.

Does that Cholula have habanero? I find that a little bottled BBQ, some chipotle, some habanero, and a mix of seasonings makes for an amazing BBQ sauce. Yum!

So, when is that grill party?

I'd have to check the ingrediates but a little does go a long way. I remember an incident with some Chili in my drinking days where I may have used too much. *Shudder*

I'm all up for a grill party. It could be the opening of 'Ravencon'. Something I'm sure will never happen but a nice dream nontheless!

I never thought of adding beer to a barbecue sauce.

When I need to saute something, I'll add a splash of bourbon or vodka (cheap stuff for cooking, never the good stuff for drinking).

For an extremely good BBQ sauce try the similiar but using Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce instead of the Kraft stuff.

The only reason I got Kraft *shudder* was due to having to drive 30 miles for either KC Masterpiece or Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. Next time I'll drive but I got to get a new recipie.

I'll try the brand you suggested though! The name sounds delicious.

Agreed but due to certain issues I am stuck with either Busch NA or O'doul's. But small beer works so I won't complain......much.

Heh, I can understand that. I often have to settle for a brand that our general store carries if I don't want to make the 30 mile drive.

And if you find the Sweet Baby Ray's I highly recommend it. One of the few brands that I don't feel the need to tweak.
