Exhausted

I volunteered to help my son's kindergarten class with their field trip to the zoo today....
I think every single elementary school in all of east Texas was on a field trip there today. It was pandalerium.
Of the kids assigned to me, one little girl was like a ghost. Blink and she was gone, off wandering with some other school who was looking at something she wanted to see instead.
I finally let the Lieutenant in me come out and started barking orders ,which kept the class organized, but I wasn't wanting to step on the teacher's toes. It was all good though as she thanked me when we rounded the little buggers onto the bus at the end of the day.
I had a good time but man......
Kindergarteners are the devil. I look forward to going back to work and dealing with hardened criminals again.
I think I need a nap.

Oooo, a zoo! I love zoos. They're soo inspirational! Glad you had a good time. Sometimes, the monster, err, animals, are more troublesmone outside the cage, but that's why we have guns, right?

Hehehe.

I doubt any seasoned character could take a single class of them, really. I love children, but they should be taken like cognac, in small doses.

Yikes. I'd flee the county.
Hell, the last town we lived in had less than 4,000 people and I wanted to leave it because it was getting to busy.

Such is the life of a reenactor. ^_^
Course, we do get the police involved. A couple of cops come down from Wagoner to play artillery for us. ^_^

DD a class of curtain climbers...... Good lord my daughter is smoking me & she is just over 3 weeks old!
I know what you mean about the "Letting the LT come out" I've helped with classes & things before & it is amazing how quick the mean NCO voice comes out!
Hope you all have fun the rest of the weekend!

*chuckles* Yeah. The teacher got a laugh out of, "Count time! Catch the wall!" and 'Pair it up and walk it off."
Working in a correctional facility seems to rub off on ya at times.

That's just a little east of Tyler isn't it?
We're southwest of Tyler, near Palestine.

Nope. We've only within the past 6 months moved close enough to Tyler to make me consider it a viable shopping location.
