New to the Crusade - my stuff is arriving tomorrow/Thursday!

Post by GreenElf »

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd register and say hello. I'm new to Castles & Crusades, but not to role playing games (although C&C will be the first pen and paper rpg I will play since I was about 16 or 17...I'm 27 now). I started with D&D, AD&D 2nd Edition, Gamma World, all the old but great stuff.

I was recently lured into GMing a new game, so I told the eager players that I would find a new system for them. I just can't stomach what WoTC has done to D&D in the last few years (and the last few days especially). C&C was an excellent surprise - simple, fun, and backed by Gary Gygax and what certainly seem to be a fine bunch of Trolls. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Anyway, my Players Handbook and Monsters & Treasure should be arriving tomorrow or Thursday. Then it's time to start learning the rules and creating my own campaign...or if I'm lazy, purchasing some modules from the Trolls and starting with those.

Welcome to the Crusade, may you find the errata, so many questions can be answered there! ;) Hehe, naw, seriously, welcome. Hope you have a good foray into the killing-off of PCs.

Well done and welcome fellow Cubs/Sox/Bears fan. We've had our dream fulfilled for the Sox and Bears in our lifetimes, but still waiting on the Cubs!

Anyway, glad to have you with us . . . on The Crusade. And I'll say, don't feel bad about purchasing the C&C modules whether from the Trolls, Independents and any and all writers/contributors - They are all, really excellent!!!

Enjoy the game.

Welcome! Make sure you visit cncplayer.net
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Welcome to the crusade!!

I recommend the Beacon at Enon Tor as your first adventure. It gives the CK and the players an easy to run/play scenario while allowing flexibility to help in learning the basics of the game.

Happy gaming!
