I'm curious....this one looks a lot "bigger." The first one was very effective, and I'm hoping that they can hit the nail on the head again.

I nearly had bruises on my arm after watching the first one with my girl. She gets very involved in horror films.

I was not so impressed with the first one, finding it rather trite, and the theatrical ending was a huge disappointment... but there is hope for the new one, seeing as Land of the Dead made me almost fall asleep while watching, like Romero lost his touch. We'll see if this not-zombie movie can be different.

The first one was ok but not spectacular. Too much non-action in it. Land of the Dead was disappointing as well. Sadly I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake better than Land.

28 Days was pretty OK. However, now that the film is completey americanized... yes, it's true. It will probably play out completely differently then the 1st one in tone and setting.

But hey, here's hoping for a pleasent surprise.

I enjoyed the tone of the original, if not all of the plot points. One thing I've never like about the genre has been the negative portrayal of the military guys as generally being either incompetent or completely nuts.

I thought the guy who wrote World War Z ( a zombie book by Mel Brooks kid written last year) to be a little more evenhanded. I wouldn't mind seeing that made into a movie.

I'm sure I'll see the sequel, if for nothing else than a beer and pizza movie.

I actually liked the first one. Because I have seen way worst in the genre with the later movies.

Romero's latest movies were not that horrible, but they seem too similar and gimmicky now.

No, they're not horrible, but they have the same feel... the same, everything, really. I liked the premise of 28 Days, but don't think it came across the "right way." I also had a problem with the "fast zombies." Same problem in the Dawn remake, too, but it had a lot more action so it was tolerable (though, not a true zombie flick, either, in that sense.) One nice thing about 28 Days... it rekindled the fore for others to want to make zombies. That can't be bad, but I'm still gonna watch my Dead Alive over it. :)

Agreed. World War Z was not quite as fun of a read as was the Zombie Survival Guide, but would make for a neat movie.

In all honesty I though Romero's and others zombies were more like ghouls. Fast zombies don't bother me as it shakes some forethought on the genre. Something I will be using in my games is faster more competent zombies from time to time.

Technically, they're nearly all ghouls. The Romero stuff definitely is. If you want a zombie movie, you have to watch something like "The Serpent and the Rainbow" or "White Zombie."

I enjoyed reading through the lines at all the celebrities who "bought it" in the book. Paris Hilton, Anne Coulter and Bill Maher (at least according to how i read it). Good times.

I don't mind fast zombies, but I didn't like the Return of the Living Dead/indestructable ones. That was one zombie series that left me unimpressed.

Has anyone seem Romero's THe Crazies? I've never seen it but it allegedy has "zombies" that are driven mad by a chemical disaster, so they probabl resemble the zombies from 28 Days Later.

Just watched one called "Undead". Very nice, fun beer and pretzels movie. And a very HOT Aussie lead actress as well. Worth the view.
