Game stores in Chicago?

Post by GreenElf »

Hey everyone,

Just wondering....does anyone here know if there are any game stores in the city of Chicago at all? Specifically, are there any that carry or could be convinced to carry C&C stuff?

I am just having no luck finding a game store in Chicago. I'm hoping to find a place with a friendly atmosphere, a place to play games in store, and a great community of Chicago based gamers. Does such a place exist only within my imagination? Note - I'm not interested in stores outside of the city itself....I'm limited to public transportation.

Someone help me! I know there's at least one other Chicagoan out there...

Try PMing Rhuvein- I think he lives in Chitown as well so he might know.

Closest one I knoe is Games Plus in Mt Prospect- which won't help you much.

Sadly, Chicago seems to be a viod for Scfi/gaming tpe stuff, which doesn't sit well with me.

Good luck

Try Gamers Paradise in century mall. The guys there are pretty cool and are willing to order anything you want. They have "game days", but are more geared towards Star Wars minis and DDM than actual roleplaying games, though I think if someone offered to run a game they would have no problem with it.

Hey indeed, thanks Morty. I live there but don't live there. Heh, I'm out in the burbs now, but go into town regularly.

Howdy Ghost_Face. Yes, that was going to be my thought about a store as well. My nephew goes to the Gamer's Paradise on Clark to buy minis and such. I go to the one in Orland Park. Surprisingly, the mall store is quite friendly and willing to order anything. They can get C&C and LA stuff and have it delivered to their stores very quickly.

Morty, have you been to a GP store out by you?

Oh, GreenElf, btw - what part of town do you live? Do you have a gaming group going or are you looking?

My game has been run from my house - out in the burbs, but I'm thinking of rotating to my nephew's apartment in Lincoln Park or my buddy's condo in Evanston from time to time, so, if you're looking for a game, we'd be happy to have another.

There was one in Villa Park that was really good and they closed.

The other one I know about is at Stratford Square in Bloomingdale, and in the the words of the sage Borat "Not so good for me!"

I asked about ording C&C when t was just comming out and a snotty goth highschool kid said he never heard of it.

I stopped by when Christmas shopping last year and it was still all WOTC White Wolf stuff.

Games Plus carries the C&C stuff plus thee's a bunch of wargamming stuff and they have 2 reall nifty game auctions every year were its possible to pick up OOP materials. It's a hike from Naperville to t prospect for me but worth it every few months.
