CZ The Upper Works on track for August release?
Well, since it's May now and we only have about three months to go... is this boxed set still on track for an August release?
CZ and the basic C&C set are the two most anticipated products that I've been drooling over... here's to hoping to that we'll see them both this summer!

I have no idea about CZ, other then it was mentioned that the GOAL for CZ was to be released at GenCon. The only other information that has been disceminated to us is that Peter was hard at work on the CZ maps (and he has been for quite some time). Other then this, I beleive we know very little about the project.

This is from a thread in the CZ forum at this site.

Good news and bad...
The good news is that there will be SIX modules in the first boxed set.
The bad news is that there is no way all of them will be completed and layed out for print by August.
I have queried the Trolls about releasing one or more of these modules as individual products for sale at GenCon.
I wish the Trolls were able to run TLG full time. Maybe when they get another 5% of the market share they'll be able to. Then things like this can move much faster.
Until then this is just the unfortunate nature of being a fan of a game system/product put out by people who do it as a second job, or in their spare time.
I got used to this kind of thing with Necromancer, which is a "spare time" company. So I didn't have much adjusting to do when I became a fan of TLG. At least they have gotten noticeably better in the last 8 months or so.
Besides, if Steve and Davis decide they really want to make this happen, we may see it at GenCon anyways. If the material is done, its just a matter of dedicating time to layout, editing, and maps. Which means giving it more of their spare time. So it could still happen.
Irregardless, with the gorgeous work (and magnitude of the job) being done by Peter on just the few maps I saw last GenCon, this is going to be a RPG feast well worth waiting for. To be done right. So I'll wait. Very reluctantly. But it is well worth waiting for.
I strongly suggest that if it isn't done for Gen COn they bring stuff to show what they are doing and what its going to have and look like when it is done. To show as many others as possible that it is worth the wait.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Every time I call up the TLG home offices, I get Steve on the phone who wants to talk about gaming too much! If he has a second job, it must be out of the TLG home offices.
As for Peter's second job... "BRADLEY, I WANT MORE PICTURES OF SPIDERMAN!!!" Get on that.

Im a full time artist. Most of my work is for TLG, simply because thats who gives me the most work at present.
I keep busy doing 1)layout 2) logo design 3) cartography and castle drawing 4) and art.
Other than that I do the odd bit of outside work, and the convention circuit.
I'm paying the bills. Fortunately I don't have many. ^_^

Davis and I both work TLG full time. This is our source of income. This is what we do? Delays on many projects last year stemmed from the mountain of backlogged work that we had to get through and other various and sundry things, some of which can be laid at our feet, some cannot.
The delay in CZ is caused by a myriad number of things out of our control. There will be releases at Gesncon for CZ, this I promise, and I'll know more in the next day, when I do, I'll get it organized and you all will be the first to know.

Heh, I don't obsess over schedules and release dates by the Trolls or anyone else for that matter. Books, movies, computer games - it's all the same. Stuff takes time to do it right and when it's done then I buy.
When CZ is released, I'll buy it. Until then, I'll buy loads of other stuff that the Trolls are producing - all great and all usable in my campaign.
Tolkien's book took a while to get finished.
Star Wars and other sequel/prequels.
Half-Life 2 took quite some time. In fact, Gabe Newell said, by the time HL3 is released they will all be retired - LOL. So, there are releasing HL3 in increments - Episodes they're calling them
And finally - sheesh, I'm still waiting for Duke Nukem!

I didn't know you guys had gone full time on TLG. Thats awesome and extremely encouraging about C&C. Looking forward to the CZ plans for GenCon. I hope I get to see the Trolls at GenCon again this year. Plus finally meet Gary in person.
