[Baton Rouge, LA] Looking for C&C Group
[Baton Rouge, LA] Looking for C&C Group
Hello, all!
I'm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I'm looking to join a C&C group, or to start one.
I am a capable DM/CK, and I have a regular place to host the games. I have been gaming for roughly 27 years, and have a lot of experience. However, I welcome any and all who are interested in C&C.
I can be reached via this forum, or by e-mail, at azog@bellsouth.net .
Looking forward to hearing from you...

Ok, this is getting embarrassing...not a single response ....
Its still a relatively new and small niche game. Your best bet is to find new players.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Hello David and welcome. I'm sure there must be some C&C'ers down yer way. It may be a little while as many don't stop by regularly.
Do you frequent the DragonsFoot forum? I know The Red Priest is in NO, but he might be a AD&D 1E player. But he might be interested.
Anywho, good luck and hope to get some players.

Thanks, guys...I will look up the gent on Dragonsfoot...
As for the contact in Lafayette, that's quite a bit of a commute for a weekly game, but I'd still be interested in getting in touch with him...
Thanks, again, guys. As it seems, I've been out of the gaming loop for so long (and C&C is the game that brought me back) that I've lost touch with any gamers that I used to know...

Hey David,
Is there a gaming store in BR? If so, you might talk to the owner about doing a C&C demo and advertise it on his bulletin board/window/whatever. Then you might introduce people to C&C and (hopefully) get some new players!
I'll email Eric and see if I can get his contact info for you.

Quest for players continues...
So...my quest for players continues. I've run into a few players, and since I've been out of the loop so long, this is a good thing, but finding players who are interested in a regular weekly session of C&C is another thing entirely...
I'm exploring Dragonsfoot as we speak...

Most the C&C players don't come to message boards. This is true of (nearly) every table top game. The best way to find them is the traditional way... through game stores. This is one reason why brick and mortar shops must be supported and why Free RPG Day is vital. I wish you luck in finding a group, but if you can't do face-to-face, there are online ways of playing.
Do they allow in-store gaming? If so, perhaps you could stage a demo, if you had the time, and interest. I know too well the pain of wanting to lay and not being able to. When I was in CA and living there, I was in a backwards place and no one wanted to play C&C, or even try something else. They had their preferred game, and that's what they played (and it wasn't d20.)
