Post by slimykuotoan »

I've got an '83 suppliment called the Cities of Harn, which bacially includes fleshed out cities for use with any roleplaying game.

Anyone know about Harn?

It's very, VERY detailed setting that is low magic, pretty much based on late midevel europe. Nothing funky and tries to be generally based on realism. Havn't read through any of the setting stuff in many years though.

Its for the game HarnMaster, which is, like Omote says, extremely detailed, but not as detailed as, say, Tekumel. :) They are close to each other, though, in terms of "what's out there." Harn stuff is cool, usually.

Harn's maps are second to none. They're expensive, but the detail you get with villages and hamlets, topography and even Harn's city maps are fantastic!

For more then 10 years I have always considered using HARN as my setting of choice, but never pulled the trigger.

Regardless if I ever find any more Harn stuff, I'll certainly be using the city guide.

I mean these cities are complete - and I mean complete- and ready to plop down into any campaign.

There are no references to rules at all either, so it's readily usable for any setting and stocked full of stuff.

Man, I'm sooo gonna have to research what other goodies are out there...

Harn is frickin awesome for details. The system isn't bad either. Go to the Lythia site linked above, lots of awesome and free downloads.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
