Heh, what else is new? With enworlds particular well known bias to complex systems, the debates often get heated.
The poll is going to be slanted towards complex game systems for that very reason.
Same as if folks posted a poll about C&C over at Dragonsfoot, you'd get a lot more AD&D support.
Unfortunately the web is about the worst place to truly represent a fan base of any rpg system. ^_~`

It never ceases to amaze me that people can get riled up about a book about a game about worlds that don't exist. Literally...people need a reality check.
I love C&C, I love D&D, I love fantasy roleplaying games. I mean c'mon...how can more games and more options and more variety ever be a bad thing?

Because we humans can't stand, or refuse to understand that people don't like the same things others do.
I'm guilty of it. I can't believe that if people truly gave C&C a solid test run they would want to go back to 3E. It allows you to do anything and easily use anything from many systems. GURPS, Paladium Fanatasy, RIFTS, every edition of D&D.
With how /awesome I see this flxibility and power of the SIEGE engine being, I really have to make myself think about it, not that I ever really understand it, but at least keep my mouth shut.
It really cooks my beans when people say its an old edition rehash that is far more limited than 3E. If 3E is so awesome than why can't it allow me to do what the SIEGE engine does?
Anyways, I voted, and you know what my vote was.

Actually, I understand that on a level that would make most people want to scratch their own eyes out...
See, I am an attorney.

What do you mean 'we' bi-ped? ^_~`
Us floating brains in jar's have a much more evolved tolerance for differences.
Note my post on that enworld thread.

Often times, I wonder if the people that say such have ever really (one or two sessions don't count) played older editions.
I mean, I can see bits of all the old editions (AND bits of 3e, for that matter) in there, certainly more than in 3e, but yeah, the SIEGE Engine has its own brilliance that shines through.

I finally read the ENWorld thread and now understand your post.
I guess certain 3E "posters" don't look in the mirror.
Plus if they do categorize me that way they obviously didn't try to remember the content of my posts.
Plus I don't get Mythmere's claims we bash d20 over here. I haven't been bashed once for all the times I mention using stuff from 3E.
I think he is confusing stuff with what was said over in the C&C forums on DF. Not here.

Thanks for the link. I used to spend more time over there, but got out the habit. Always happy to lend a voice in support of C&C!

Not often but it pops up from time to time. I;ve done it a very few times when I'm on a rant or the like, but I keep that to a min.

Oh, this debate. Been too long since the last flare. Yep... exciting.
Anyone remember the last time? If so, they won't be surprised by anything that is creeping into that thread.
And, actually, now thinking about it.... I find it to be funny. Rally around the cultists, boys. Its better than being in the bunker.

I found the poll a pleasant surprise. Seeing many people who at least voted that they have an interest in C&C was pretty encouraging.

I find it interesting that I always seem to be on the outside of the ENWorld majority. I was on the Greyhawk side on FR vs. Greyhawk threads. And then a Kalamar fan when those flames were fanned. And now I'm a C&C fan. I don't go to ENWorld anymore for a reason. They ain't my kind of people.

I voted. Thanks. That was cool.
Now I am going back to my Cultists to roll some dice.

Quite. When one tallies the numbers, one has at least half the voters either playing or interested in the game. Works for me.

More the reason to get all these mildly curious gamers a free copy of the Quickstart Rules pdf.
