Ernie and Luke Gygax's The Lost City . . .

I didn't get to hang out with Ernie nearly as much as I would like to have, or I am accustomed to, however, I did have a conversation with him that went something like this . . .

"Hey Ernie, do you mind if we re-release The Lost City of Gaxmoor as Castles & Crusades!"

"Sure Steve. You asked me the last year and I said 'Sure Steve' then."

"Really? I asked you that?"

"Yep. I think you asked me even before that."

"Haha. I'm an idiot. Okay, I'm on it this time."

So the long and short of it is I've pulled the old files for Ernie and Luke's "The Lost City of Gaxmoor" and have begun working them over for C&C.

This is ROCKING!

Sweet. Its a great mod/minicampaign, and will be a boon to have it for C&C. Let the serleran know if he can help at all.

I may have to take you up on that Serelan. Some of the monsters are VERY 3E and they will need a little adjusting I think...and monsters are you specialilty..eh?

Woohoo, this is tremendous. Great adventure setting/city and the array of monsters/creatures is fantastical, especially the daemons!

Heh, that's what I hear. Even Gary said something to that effect, calling me "the critter creator." Good times.

Please, please PLEASE make some changes to the names of the major NPC's! And Please please PLEASE change that half-hill giant/half red dragon to something less 3e! I beg that of you! Please! Pretty Please!

I was reading Gaxmoor, and when I read the name Harecules, I about died laughing. I remember the Harecules Hare cartoons of my youth, where this rabbit, Harecules, would get mad, take out his mallet, and beat any metal object into the "Guided Muscle" - a rocket with a fist-shaped nose cone that would chase down the baddy.

Since my players are familiar with that, as well... once they heard that name, they'd start singing the theme song.

I'll buy this regardless of whether you make those changes, but I definitely think they'd make a more serious product.

Good times, indeed! It was cool hanging out with you, Serl.

Oh, and I would very much love to see this module done C&C style! Awesome.

Maybe the miscommunication with Ernie came from the Guniness?

Without giving spoilers, what is this product about? I didn't get the chance to peek at the original version.

Thanks.

LOL Good lord you game sounds like ours. If ANYTHING even vaguely resembles some song or show Todd remembers from the vast catalog of crap in his head he starts singing, humming or dancing the night away!

I will let Ernie make all editorial decisions, but the half dudes will be changed I suspect.

Grrrr. Can I trade in my crappy D20 copy?

Any new information or an ETA on the C&C translation of this?

I was thinking of buying a used 3e copy, but if a C&C version is soon to arrive, I'd rather buy that one new.

Hey, funny you should mention this product as I found the original maps for it the other day. In looking for something entirely different I stumbled on some old Map Tubes (the original Ahirde maps were rolled up and available via tube). I got to poking through them and what did I stumble upon. Some centerf.....er wait, a bunch of rolled up maps of a certain city!

Notice how Steve teased us with a related anecdote, but never actually said anything about if/when the C&C version of Gaxmoor might actually come out?
