Are you sure? I took it as Harry was completely purged of his "share" of Tom Riddle's blood/soul. Wouldn't that totally negate him from even being able to be the heir?
I meant that himself and Voldemort are related. Pay attention to the family lineage set forth in the books

Actually, Rowling has dropped a lot of 'future history' of the characters in various interviews during the last week. I am too lazy to go hunting up where they are, but a few bits: Harry becomes head of the Aurors, and cleans up the Ministry of Magic; Hermione becomes an outspoken friend of the downtrodden, i.e. houselves, and is highly placed in the governing arm of the Ministry; Ron becomes partners in George's magic joke business and apparently also is Harry's partner as an Auror (busy guy); and Ginny becomes a professional Quidditch player and later sports correspondent for the Prophet. I got all this from two different interviews of Rowlings'.

I don't know. They are extremely distant cousins along the Gaunts line. I suspect he could claim to be the heir if he is the closest living relative to Slytherin. But there may be closer living relatives.
Plus Harry may not be able to speak Parsel Tongue since he lost his soul connection to Valdemort, which was what allowed Harry to speak it to begin with. IE being the 7th Horcrux.
Has J.K.R. said anything about this?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael
Just finished the book yesterday. On the whole, I really enjoyed it, and thought it a fitting end to the series.
Toward the end, when Harry was in the train station, did anyone else think that the screaming, mangled baby was what was left of Voldemort's soul? Since they both were knocked down, that's the only explaination I can think of for that oddity.

*smiles* I just found it an interesting connection. The author made such a big deal about Harry being the possible "Heir of Slytherin" in book two, and now we find out that he is, in fact, descended of the Slytherin line and a bit more of a 'pureblood' than Voldemort actually.
I don't think the author has commented on it, cause, as far as I can tell, I seem to be the only one of all the readers I know who spotted the connection. ^_^

Yeah, that was a very interesting/odd scene. Harry is quite distracted at first and obviously wants to know what it is, but as the scene progresses he seems to lose interest. Perhaps he realizes what has happened or is more interested in knowing if he will return to the real world.
