Cleaver the Pit.
I'm catching up on my reading and had a chance to have a look at this game and it's very cool!! Hand to hand combat in the gladiatorial pit/arena. This looks like a great thing to have on hand, if too many people in your gaming group don't show up and you still want to do something.
Incidentally, the game calls for a hex map. Anyone know where to get a cheapo?

Does it finally include the rules for finishing moves and animals? I hope so!

Hmm, it's probably me, but I can't seem to get this working. It's not intuitive and I don't see instructions.

I see movement rules, but nothing about animals. Would those be lion and tigers and bears (oh my) that would face opponents in the pit? Mebbe a variation of the game, not included??

Yes, something aside from other warriors, though I also recall the possibility of facing down both... and they were talked about in playtesting but it doesn't look it got much beyond that. Its alright, always room for a Cleaver the Pit Expansion Pack I: Blood Cage! CtP is a great little game... fast, deadly, and downright mean.

Thanks, better. But what's the hex side setting? I tried 50, which looked good on the render, but didn't quite come out right on the print copy.

Yeah, I can't wait to try this. I watched Davis briefly playing this. He was very intent and engaged. I'm glad I got this ~ only $1.00!!!!!!!

Rhuvein, you could also try this:
http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/
(scroll down just a bit for hex)...
I got this at LGGC also... seems pretty cool, although I haven't played. I wanted my son to play with me, but he's seven and his mom kinda flipped out.

$1?!
So, is this an actual hardcopy product - it says so on the product description, but for one dollar?

$1 American dollar... SOLD! Never played it before, sounds like it is pretty fun. C'mon Davis, get a mass production of this game out. I want to kill Cleaver the Pit some people at my FLGS.

It's more like a pamphlet or booklet the size of the boxed set PH or one of the OD&D booklets. 12 pages.
And yep, $1.00 and signed by Davis.

The "Flip-Mat" foldable battlemats I use have squares on one side and hexes on the other side. They are portable, inexpensive, and work well. I think Paizo makes them now, Steel Sqwire used to.
