TLG at Gen Con

So how did TLG do at GenCon?

Any new products released? Maybe even something involving the initials 'CZ'?
Successful C&C games run? People meeting people?

Tell those not fortunate enough to go!
[Umm ... perhaps this has been covered already elsewhere, but I haven't been paying close attention to TLG lately (thanks to work, summer, and gf). So feel free to provide links to additional info, etc.]

I doubt we'll hear anything until tomorrow at the earliest. What I am interested in hearing is:

* The reaction to XXXI.

* Results of Trolls slaes at Gen Con and interest in C&C and LA after Gen Con.

* Trolls General take on the 4e annoucement and TLG's palns after the announcement.

* That they are working on CZ, CKG and the rest of the A series. And they will be relassed in the fall or winter this year.

I stopped by the booth several times, and I can tell you they were MAD busy, ALL weekend.

Meeting Gary was awesome, though I was a face in a wild crowd and all I did was thank him for everything that he's done for the hobby, so I'm sure he doesn't remember me. Still, Gary, if you read this, it was truly an honor to shake your hand and I'll treasure your sig in my Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh book. I desperately wanted to get hold of an old white box OD&D for you to sign, but the gods didn't see fit, alas.

Did the Saga of Old City make it to print in time for Gen COn? If so, did anyone pick it up? How does it look? I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I just want to know who their booth-babe was. She was... enthusiastic to say the least. She was also the only Chainmail-wearing girl that I saw at the show.

So, was she a model hired for the show or somebody who works for the company.

(I'd post a pic, but I apparently can't do that yet)

Was there any Trollish swag?

TLG looked like they did MAD BUSINESS at GenCon. Their booth was swamped almost every time I passed by it.

There was tons and tons of TLG goodness at GenCon, lots of new product.

Best news I've heard in the last week. Hoping to the powers above that this is merely the latest in a series of good-news occurrences for the Troll Lord gang.

P.S.: The booth-babe pictures must be forthcoming. My doctor says it's the best thing for me.

Hmm.. apparently my picture from the Troll Lord booth has become somewhat popular. If you're curious, you need only do a Google search for "Chainmail Girl" and it will be about 4 entries down.

Yep! Thats Ashley from last year. Either she has "matured" or had a rough year. She still looks good, though. Hope she and I are both at GenCon next year.

Ya, thats Ashley. Casey found her a couple of years ago and has me using her as an 'iconic' character in his modules.

Bout 13 new products actually. Hence me and Steve not seeing much in the way of sleep over the last couple weeks. And yes, there was a CZ release over the weekend.

I'll try and post a full summary tomorrow. The folks and I rolled in about 4am this morning and im just a wee bit tired. ^_~`

That's cool. Are there any of your "iconic" pics of her available on the web?

Cool. Reading the reports from other companies has left me waiting for a report from my favorite one.

We were extremely busy during the con. We released two new town settings for Yggsburgh (moat gate, town halls), the Eastmark Gazetteer, the new Airdhe folio, XXXI (which did well, since someone asked.), Usurpers of the Fell Axe, Dzeebagd, Felsentheim, and I can't remember what else for the con. I didn't get to do nearly any of the things I wanted to get done outside of the booth because of how busy we were, but that's ok since I enjoyed meeting the current and future customers of TLG. I wanted to get some hang time with Greyelf, Omote and some of the other guys we met, but time didn't permit. Next year, I hope. Omote, I need to get your cell phone number next time dude. We playtested Casey Christofferson's new mass combat rules for C&C and I wanted to invite you but nobody had your contact info. I knew you were struggling to get a game together. I hope you got to game some C&C at the con. If you did, it was more C&C than I got a chance to play.

Not yet. But I plan a massive update of my website this week and I'll post a pile of new stuff.

I was having more fun taking pictures of the beautiful blond around the corner though. ^_~`

I believe the picture was from the day after her 22nd birthday. We partied with Luke Gygax, two of his buddies, and were joined by Steve and Davis, thus we were all up till the wee hours of the morning and probably didnt see sleep till 4:30.

Yep, that would explain that "look" around her eyes.

Was a good time, but alas I got to play ZERO C&C. Next year for sure, by hell or high water we're getting a C&C game in. If we have to kick in to have TLG have a massive booth next year so that C&C live will be going on in the center, we'll do it!!! I totally never even thought about giving you or Steve my cell#. Damn. I did hear about Case's mass combat game, glad everything went well.

C&C is on the rise baby, and next year will be even better!

My Gencon consisted of me dispensing browneye to face of all of my hotel roommates, Davis and I drinking and smoking till 3am while making up dumbass raps about all kinds of stupid shit, being Steve's bitch, and working my ass off for TLG to make sure the gospel of Castles and Crusades was spread to masses at Gencon.

And it was worth every minute of it.

Hi everybody...first post. I played 1E for a decade (1980-1990) , then I just sort of drifted away when 2E came out then started playing marvel RPG, Gamma World, Boot Hill, Avalon Hill Wargames , Battletech, Games Workshop stuff including space hulk and lots of 40K, and on and on and on....well I went to Gen Con this year and went over to meet Mr. Gygax and was introduced to the C & C system (it looks like 1.5 first edition at first glance ....). I ended up buying one of every single book they had at the booth ($500.00)...Yikes!).

I hope this gets me back to DMing again...we'll see.
