Insta- death spells (WARNING!! Rant with vulgar language)
Even video games will try to kill you and show you a game over screen, forcing you to get better at the game. In fact, I can provide a list of twenty such games made in the past five years that are quite infamous for their difficulty. Unfortunately, it's the video games that claim to be "RPGs" that tend to be the especially easy ones in which anyone with a few brain cells can survive easily at all levels. The difficult ones tend to be reserved for the genres centered around twitch-reflexes with no roleplaying involved at all. If only someone was brave enough to combine the two...

Want to know the biggest reasons I hate WoW?
There are two.
All the time I spend dead and "finding" my body. I'm fine with the dying.
All the time I spend running from place to place to fulfill quests.
I don't believe in wasting my time, and I sure am not going to pay someone to waste it via their game.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

lol no kidding. I hate how time-consuming some of WoW can be.
But the main problem with making tabletop rpg's more video game-like should be pretty obvious: people that like video games don't play pnp rpg's, they play video games. They are two completely different styles that shouldn't be mixed (especially if the pnp rpg is more costly, more difficult, and more time-consuming than the video game version...).

Agreed... and this is coming from a guy who spends a lot of time on video games.
