My Amazon Shipment is here...

Post by Treebore »

My Amazon shipment of "City of Brass", "Thieve of Fortress Badabaskar", "Citadel of Fire", and "DCC 39: The Ruins of Castle Churo and DM Screen" have arrived.

I might actually be absent from the internet for awhile.

Nice haul Tree!

Right now my head is spinning with all the things I need to put on my want list.

The time around Gen Con is generally the only time of the year that there is more stuff out that I actually want than I know what to do with.

My god there is a lot of material on City of Brass! You'll be away for a while if you plan on reading that box set cover to cover.

I've only read the first 37 pags and I was getting overwhelmed with how much is packed into these pages!

The Goodman DCC DM Screen is frickin awesome! I would love for TLG to one day do one like this for TLG.

Just reading th "Intro" sections of the Goodman/Judges Guild modules has me eager to read through the rest!

I'm kind of glad Slimy cancelled his game for today.

The GG screen is a cool screen, but what is different about it that makes you want TLG to do one like that? The fact that there are two, four-panel screens? If this is the case, there is not enough CRUNCH in C&C for such thing. Personally I think the C&C screen is just as good as the GG screen (if not better).

I got one today too, but it only has the DVDs of 300 and Willow.

But City of Brass should be here on Friday.

Yeah, its mostly the art, but I also like how they made it in big print and set it up where one is a player screen and the other is for the DM.

I am awaiting my Amazon shipment as well - A1 and A2 modules, CK screen and The Mysterious Tower. I also have a direct shipment from TLG I'm waiting for with Wicked Cauldron, the Aihrde Folio and my Crusaders from #5-#7 - gonna have lot of reading to do.

My local bookstore actually has Citadel of Fire - should I buy it?

I would say yes, John. Reading through it has me aching to cast aside my Erde campaigns and go back to running the Wilderlands. I mean BAD!!

I'm afraid to read Fortress. It may make the urge irresistable.

Thanks Robert -

Damn, now I have to decide if I skip poker night and buy it. Of course, if I do, I'll have to look into buying Wilderlands as well....

Well if you don't have Wilderlands, old or new, I don't know how it would appeal to you. Hopefully you will get excited about all the various human races, the amazons, the Altanians, etc... and the sci fi origins of the world of the Wilderlands (which has as little impact on your game as you wish, or as much), etc...

The Citadel does have a variety of liches a wizardly mummies though.

There is a lot of "wide open imagination" to the WL setting. Still often described as very "swords and Sorcery", though.

And vampires. One very cool, Strahd Von Zarovich like, vampire wizard. Assuming your familiar with (I6) Ravenloft, which I am running on line this October. Live talking 3 hour sessions, until victory, death, or retreat.

Heh... probably right. I think since I'm letting myself get so excited on Aihrde I'll squelch the desire. That's why I sort of said "I'm gonna let my own world go" as far as writing lots of new stuff -- too many damn good settings. I think I'll save Wilderlands stuff for later - keep something good out there to look for when I feel the need for something different.

I'm glad I bought my WL setting. I'm itching to start running it but I haven't figured out where yet.
