Back in the Office and Dusting off the Shelf

Hey All,

The three weeks previous to Gencon were mad cap weeks as we wrapped up 13 odd projects that had been in the wings for . . . er . . . years and months. We've returned from Gencon, unloaded the trucks, inventoried stuff and ate a little food.

All week I've been putting projects to bed (this is going to carry over) and having a look at what's coming up. This is what we are currently working on (short notes only, when the product ripens we'll put it in the Upcoming Projects section)

GFW (still my favorite line)

Canting Crew Revisited, off to press in a week or two.

Essential Places has been given new life. We've assigned new authors to work with Gary and I'll announce them very soon when things are finalized.

Lejendary Pantheons: This book moves to the front of the line. I'm not sure where we are on it, but will consult with Todd next week as he had the latest proofs (about a month before Gencon).

C&C

Lots, but mostly CKG. I will tell Davis that we can do a Madness sale only after he's posted some material on the CKG. That ought to motivate the old Troll in him.

I'll be working on the Basic and C2 Shades of Mist

Davis is wrapping up Chimera's Roost.

CZ

The City Books will begin releasing in the next few weeks. We've a few last things to do to tidy them up.

Upper Works

Look for this bad boy this fall or early winter. I'll post some goodies from it as soon as I can. Those who have the EM Gazetteer have a taste in the first module.

LA

We have aggreed to 4 new modules from Spencer Wright. These should be making their debut soon enough. By winter we hope. We also have The Rock coming

Core books. As soon as Peter is done with the art for the Lejendary Rules for All Players we'll announce this puppy for release.

Crusader

I'm currently laying out a writing structure for the next six issues. We'll have new covers posted before long.

We'll be expanding content. I've already contacted Chaosium for some material, if you have any game systems you would like to see content for, give us a shout out. I can't make any promises, but I can make hollow gestures.
Games

Kings of England Kings of France is moving forward at last. When we finalize some of the art for it we'll post some samples for you.

Cleaver the Pit: Look for Tournies at the next cons we run

C&C Society

I'm going to tap a few of you on these boards to help me reorganize this thing. New heraldry, new roles, new everything. I'll post a messabe board for further discussion open to the public. But we are going to organize this like a Kingdom me thinks. Think SCA.

Conventions.

Please pre-reg for the three cons we run as soon as you can so we can get a handle on space. The Lake Geneva cons are VERY LIMITED.

We have new blood helping us with Troll Con folks. So look out!

I think that about covers it for now.

We are cleaning the dust off of a lot of projects now and moving forward. I hope you all will stay along for the ride, and if not, hope you enjoyed it, and if you didn't....errr, there you have it.

You guys have officially moved to the top of my list of "Coolest RPG company". Your in darn good company, Green Ronin (previous number one), Fat Dragon Games, Necromancer, Paizo, and Expeditious Retreat Press round out my top 6 favorites, with you guys sliding into first place.

By the time I got through the CZ section, I didn't know whether to drool or cry with joy. There's a lot moisture going on around here.

Is it possible to support games which are no longer made? ;)

Sure, if you have the fortune of Bill Gates to hire the necessary legal defence squad.

Why tempt fate? ^_~`

Oh, I was mostly meaning games that don't seem to be owned, but am totally unsure about (as in, who, or what, owns them)... like Kult, Lost Souls, Chill (I think Mayfair still owns it), and whatnot; always thinking I'm poking the honeycomb... Also, how about asking Bob Bledsaw, if he would, do some Wilderlands stuff, sort of like an ordinary column Pegasus-style? That would be sweet, and be guaranteed to increase sales. Maybe get someone like Paul Jaquays to write some stuff on the computer-side of RPGing, since I think he doesn't do tabletop stuff anymore... you know, try to go as old guard as possible. ;)

See if James is willing to supply a regular column/article on his WL stuff too. Maybe preview some classes/races/etc... detail important NPC's of his towns, cities, etc...

Magic items, spells, etc... that are based on the history/flavor of the WL setting.

Oh, and while I'm thinking of it... get some Warhammer if you can; Talisman and 2e WHRPG. I doubt they need us, but if you could, that'd rule.

I think gleemax has a little brain trauma. No 4e support! Bad gleemax! BAD!

Uh Oh, I didn't think that was a serious question. My bad. I think I live in a bubble over here as most people know we no longer publish 3x products (-Yex and thats an exception) so are unlikely to produce 4x products.

In all honesty, we see no reason to. There are ample publishers out there who will support and who embrace the 3x+ eds better than we will be able to.

I realize there are still some too old to have youth, and others too youthful to have wisdom. I would rather see something done right than not done at all. For right, and now, I can look at C&C.

I was considering subscribing, but now I won't. Thanks... I use one system, and I'm not interested in paying for *stuff* that is geared toward other systems.

So what one system would you like to see in Crusader? I assume you're talking about C&C? We at Trolllord feel that there is plenty of room on your bookshelf for all sorts of games, Whether it be ours or not. As a gamer i love learning new games. Board games, card games, RPGs and everything in between. Granted i might not like it after i try it, but i get enjoyment from learning new games and seeing new products.

Interesting; what sort of stuff will Chaosium be contributing? Now that they've lost their EC licenses, I'm a little less excited than I might otherwise be. I'd rather not have a bunch of 1920s Cthulhu articles spoiling my fantasy fun; I would be up some Dreamlands articles or pulp-fantasy variants for their new BRP offering, though...

Edit to add: Regular (heck, even occasional) Wilderlands columns from James M. and/or Bob Bledsaw would guarantee my continued subscription!

We haven't yet decided to do any 4e material. Like Davis said, there are other plenty good publishers out there for that. We'll have the logo up and link it to Goodman Games. We like Joe. He's cool.

I'm working on the PDFs. And I completely forgot Yex. This is our last confirmed d20 project. Peter has the next 7 books laid out and we are going to push them through the schedule pretty quickly.

More on that later . . . rushes off to check/amend solicitation list.

Simply *AWESOME* all around. Out of curiosity, are there any submission guidelines specifically for the Crusader?

Perfectly understandable. But hopefully we can interest you in the occasional issue or two.

I've made a note of this to put up on the Crusader pages because people should know that the mag has in the past supported non-C&C material (note Tom Wham's game in Issue 4) and will continue to do so in the future. We have come to realize that many of the people on these boards and our whole community play a variety of games (not me interestingly, its pretty much C&C or AD&D (my style) or Doom2 for the computer) hence the note on our focus.

But never fear the base line of the magazine will always be C&C and LA and bare knuckles role playing with columns like Auld Wyrmish, and the Keeper's Notes.

As a side note, many of the columns, like Alea iacta est assume role playing in general and the musings are pretty much for the general RPG public as well as C&C.

But Stuie, I respect that decision, but do hope you'll hang around the boards!

Paul Jaquays has been contacted. Not sure when, or if, I'll get a response, but I'm trying.

James Mishler should have Bob's contact information... EGG already supports TC. Hmm, I wonder if Frank and Tim Kask might want to pitch in an idea now and then... maybe a whole issue, say, every 10th one or something, completely written by the founders? That would rock, and you know it.

I need the names of those you would like to see in this...

So many C&C products to look forward to. And for a moment, I thought you guys were working on a product called "Chimera Roast."

If we're looking at articles on other systems beyond C&C and LA, I wouldn't mind seeing stuff for Tunnels and Trolls. It's rules-light and is definitely old school.

Also, I thought that there was a new edition of Chill being worked on; I have fond memories of that game.
