Stormy Thursday
Stormy Thursday
I had a crazy stormy day yesterday. 2 tornadoes touched down nearby, but no damage ~ and plenty of thunderstorms and lightning. They lost power across the street, but we didn't on our side. Lightning took out several trees down the street.
But I had to keep my network offline, due to so much electrical activity. And then when the main 2 storms passed on, the cable went out until this moment. It's weird being offline and no TV for 18 hours. But I did get some seriously reading done.
Anyone else have a interesting weather day?
[And now, I gotta get caught up with all these posts. Mucho reading aheard!]

With the recent weather earlier this week, pretty much most of my part of the state of ohio is under water. The remenants of some tropical storm combined with a canadadian low pressure system to create 4 solid days of raining in ohio over the GenCon weekend. Lots of my neighbors had to clean out their flooded basements.
I thank God so much for sparing my home and basement, especially since I was out of town.
In a few nearby towns from me, they got 9 inches of rain in a matter of a few hours. Nothing in Ohio can survuve that amount of water so fast. God bless those people and thier families.

I'm with soulcatcher78 - no rain either. In fact, it will be cooler in Phoenix and Miami today than it will be in Central Illinois!
I had to mow my dead grass yesterday.
My children may have even forgotten what rain looks like.
My prayer for all those suffering from the floods.

I am actually glad to live where i live. Only broke 100 degree's 4 times this year (none last year), Rain can pour around here like in Ohio (where I was born and lived the first 18 years of my life), but no where near the flooding (4 inches visible as far as the eye could see for about 5 hours) Ohio and the river valley can see. No tornadoes. No Earthquakes.
Yeah, I feel for you Ohio Valley folks.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

man, send some of that rain our way. We're in a severe drought here in NC. Water rationing (for outdoor use) starts monday.
There go the tomatoes.

It's thundering and it stormed while we were in town. I like the look it looks like fall. All nice and dreary like. Perfect weather for the Grimmster.

In my neck of PA, it rained hard for about 45 minutes, then the humidity jacked up to about 95%. Today was nice and sunny; however, we had 90 degree heat and 90% humidity to go with it.

My son and I had to make a trip to the hell that is WalMart earlier tonight. Did our shopping and went through the checkout when huge thunderstorm hit. Power went out, sky turned black. We were freakin' stuck in Wally World. Eventually the storm eased up and we ran for the car.
Supposed to get more rain tomorrow. Hope it holds off as tomorrow is my daughter's birthday party and we have plans for activities outdoors.

I just re-read this threads title. I think I'll start one tomorrow called "Gloomy Sunday"*
30 points if someone can tell me the urban legend about that title but take off 29 for looking it up on snopes.com
