And a little more from the Office

Post by Troll Lord »

The first issue of the Comic strip Trolls appears in Crusader 7.

We have had long talks at Gencon with several parties and have moved Starsiege and Victorious up in the schedule. We've brushed off Comrades at long last as well.

All these use or will use the siege engine to govern mechanics of the game.

Starsiege is a sci fi RPG.

Victorious is a super-hero in age of Victorian England RPG.

Comrades is post-modern battlefield earth RPG.

I've seen the very early playtest document for Starsiege and it looks cool. This is probably what I'll use as a base to convert elements of the old WEG Star Wars RPG.

As for the superheroes line... having been a fan of the old Marvel Super Heroes game by TSR, I can't wait.

I'm very curious about Comrades though.

All around... some fantastic news you've been giving us the past couple of days. Thanks!

I'm shocked! Those actually ALL sound cool to me. Maybe its because I know how easy they will be to learn.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Starsiege. Sounds interesting, is it going to be a "gritty" (Bladerunner/Aliens) kind of game or a "family oriented" (Star Wars) kind of game?

As a seperate question, how will it stack up against Traveller? (not being a traveller player myself I really have no idea how to compare the two but I have a brother who might be interested).

If I recall correctly, Starseige in theory could support multiple science-fiction type genres. But it has been at least 6-7 months since we heard anything on these boards about it.

I know for a fact, that somebody around here was slated to get finished with a cybernetics section of SS.

Yay. I'm still going to make my versions, because I like writing them, and, I'm biased. ;)

You know... as much as I am frequently entertained by Slimy's picks... that video was just... very... very... bad.

I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude in regards to Star Siege.

Generally, Sci-Fi gaming isn't my thing. But, that also depends on how its done. Fading Suns type sci-fi? I like. Star War? Meh.

Also, primarily it will be the system that is the determining factor.

I love C&C type gaming for my Fantasy. I do not like it for other genres.

It'll have to be pretty bad ass to get me to use something other than Savage Worlds for my other genre gaming goodness.

A few things came out at GenCon with my name in them, but it is a good feeling to have your name as author, for sure... but, no, that's not why I want to write my own. I like doing it, seeing if I can create a game, rather than just tweaking an existing one (though, arguably, it would just be modifying the circumstances surrounding the SIEGE Engine, so not a "true" game, but a variant...) and, maybe, sell a few.

I've seen StarSIEGE (unless its changed) and its pretty cool. Victorious! is interesting... a little League of Extraordinary Gentleman-esque, but neat. Only heard of the other... but I'm sure it'd be interesting.

This is good, I think, as it shows the inherent flexibility of the SIEGE Engine, in more than just fantasy.
