It Begins...

Post by DangerDwarf »

Its the most wonderful time of the year.

I've got my beer, plenty of snacks, burgers & bratwurst. The family is all wearing their Bears jerseys and I've got my NFL Sunday Ticket.

Its the primary reason I keep a TV in the house.

Time for some football today guys. It almost feels like a holiday.

I liked BloodBowl. It was like Warhammer+Football. Awesome gameboard and pieces.

Ahh the Rams, Bears, Ravens, Vikings, Steelers, Raiders, and Packers. If I left anyone out they're obviously not a team.

Let the games begin.

I myself aren't that big a sports fan -Like to watch any exciting game (golf & tennis doesn't fall into this area) but don't have a favored team out side the Sooners- but it is great getting with the rest of the guys on the my team going to someones house, drink beer eat lots of grilled animal flesh, even more chips, and enjoy.

ALL ENJOY THE DAY AND DON'T DRINK TOOOO MUCH!!!

I used to feel the same way until I played golf. As for football: I played football in school and I don't really care for it. However, enjoy!

Dammit the Rams just choked. But the Packers won and the next round of games are getting ready to start.

It was a choice between them and the chiefs and I hate the chiefs as much as I do any baseball team from the east coast.

Argh!

I was hoping for a better opening day for my bears.
Grossman seems to be looking better though. I still wish they wouldn't have traded T. Jones. The running game was less than impressive.

Ah well, its been a hell of a day though.

I didn't like the ending to that. The next game here is the Cowboys vs the Giants. I'm not a fan of either but I may watch it.

I don't plan on watching any of the Cowboy game. I'm extremely anti-Dallas and will have to listen to a verbal play by play when I go into work for a meeting tomorrow anyways.

I can understand that. My hope is that John Madden mistakes Dallas for his feeding trough and devours the team.

The seasons off to a good start, at least for my Steelers, as they destroyed the Browns (not that its that hard to do, ).

Colts and Patriots both look scary good, but its only week one.

Getting rid of Jones was a bad move IMHO, he had proven he could handle the load, nobody else on the Bears has done that (yet at least).

Yup. He was good. Benson started showing out near the end of last season, but you don't ditch your "go to" guy because the back up had a few great moments.

I'm still on the fence about Grossman. The man has flashes of brilliance, and he's still young but.....

I hope Lovie's faith in him isn't misplaced. If nothing else, Rex has at least proven he can take hits. Lots of 'em.

Yeah, sad.

How can a team built around the run offense trade Jones?? Insanity.
So now we have 2 lingering doubt questions about the offense rather than 1, re: last year.

QB and RB! WTF??

Sometimes ownership and management get in the way of great coaching, team players and individual efforts. I think we may see this, this season.

Ah, opening day in the NFL. Lotsa fun. I couldn't watch for long periods, but kept flitting by like a moth to a flame, telling Mrs Geleg "I've just gotta check some scores."

My Pats looked pretty good, at least from the score. A 38-14 smackdown of the Jets.

Speaking of the Jets, I heard that their fans cheered when Pennington got hurt - any confirmation of this?

Another !@#$ *&%$ **@#$@ year for the mutha $&%^&#( Browns. DAMMIT! I was so upset today, that I cannot even comment any further for the fact I may be developing a heart condition over my home teams' worthlessness.

Worthless.
