There is a new Goodman DCC for C&C

Post by Treebore »

I saw this being talked about over on DF and shown on RPGnow or some such site, but here it is finally announced by Goodman games:

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

This completely surprised me when I saw it on the shelves. I haven't gotten a chance to read through it, but it looks pretty cool - the Underdark and C&C should be a winning combination.

Picked it up on Monday, havn't had the chance to look through it yet. However, it's a pretty thick mod. I think 32 pages, maybe? Or it might be the paper stock used. Not sure.

wow, 4 print modules from Goodman games, I guess the sales of C&C conversions are good enough to justify making more of these (I secretly thought there would only be 2 modules done by goodman). kudo's to that!!

Cheers,

J.

Apparently there is a 5th one in progress. At least according to a comment Joe dropped on his boards.

I'm sure that sales are good for these, but I also think some of this may be in anticipation of a growth spurt for C&Cs fan base in 2008 as well. With the dissatisfaction of many D&D players with the direction of 4E, the rumblings of a "3.75" potentially in the works from the upper tier 3rd party publsihers (due to WOTC's lateness getting an SRD to them to plan 2008 products) further fracturing the market, and the C&C Basic Set due out by early 2008 things are looking very good for C&C next year. I would love to see TLG offer some kind of PDF banner we could all print/post at our FLGS promoting the game (especially to former D&D players who have gotten out of RPGs), perhaps a "Come back to the game you know and love" kind of thing.

I'll see what I can put together in my copious free time. ^_~`

Great! It would be neat to have them in time to hang up in the shops for World D&D Day.

I just ordered a copy from NKG... with the 'hopefully any day now' arrival of my latest order from TLG, my C&C collection will be pretty much complete!

...and the PDF banner idea is fantastic.

Yeah, it's The Dread Crypt of Srihoz.

I've picked up all the Goodman C&C stuff, and also their 1E modules. It's encouraging that Goodman is continuing to produce modules for these lines -- that must mean they're selling.

I hope such a growth spurt manifests. I know I see an encouraging lot of C&C talk from gamers on the Goodman and Necromancer boards.

Nice. I have the first two and will get the others. Now if only Necromancer will get some C&C stuff going...

Based on stuff Clark has said, it doesn't seem likely, as far as official products (he's focused on 4E and has said he doesn't want to confuse things, FWIW). However, Melan mentioned that he might make a C&C conversion of the upcoming Tegel Manor available. And Bowbe said he'd like to see a conversion of City of Brass and might even help lay it out (assuming fans cooked one up), he just doesn't have time to work on a complete conversion. So perhaps there's some glimmer of hope, there.

I'd hope so. Goodman seems to be making a good run with the C&C stuff. I'd like to see what Necro could do for C&C and they'd have a guaranteed sell. I just hate seeing them continue to 'feed the beast' as it were.

Havent had a chance to pick up any of the C&C Dungeon Crawl Classics yet, but they're on my list. I actually want to see Troll Lord and Zeitgeist get together for a Blackmoor C&C book (or series of books) since I think the setting rocks out loud (I mean, come on....who doesn't love Temple of the Frog?)

The original, or the re-release, or the re-re-release?

Hehe, I have all 3 versions (well, technically 4, since WotC has a free 3.5 version for download).

Cool... didn't know about the free 3.5 version WotC did. Would anybody have an easy link to it?
